**MANTECH** seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented **DevOps Engineer** to join our team in **Fort Detrick, Maryland.** This is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
This position supports a pivotal Defense Health Agency (DHA) program within our Health Portfolio. This role serves as a member of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Systems Team reporting to the DevSecOps Manager and Lead Technology Architect. The SAFe Systems Team provides infrastructure support, DevOps tools, manages the Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline, and other shared technical services across one major agile Release Train coupled with two predictive projects focused on source systems.
**Responsibilities include but are not limited to:**
+ Operate as a member of a SAFe Systems team focused on developing and maintaining a wide variety of software systems/sub-systems related medical logistics, business intelligence, and system integration.
+ Provide DevOps tooling and system administration support, including system health check monitoring (Nagios, Grafana, Splunk) and related CI/CD tools in traditional and infrastructure as code (IaC) deployment, and configuration management.
+ Work with the DevSecOps Manager, Lead Technology Architect, and Senior DevOps Engineer to analyze the as-is state of the pipeline and related tools, make recommendations, and manage the approved backlog of prioritized improvements/changes over time.
+ Participate in all phases of the development life cycle, supporting the infrastructure and CI/CD pipeline, which includes collaborating with developers, systems administrators, security experts, operational/monitoring senior developers, other DevOps engineers, and other technical staff throughout the entire program. This also includes enforcing standards and best practices for DevOps and DevSecOps.
+ Maintain and follow plans, drive DevOps, DevSecOps and Systems Team backlog grooming, and other documentation; including enforcing standards and best practices for system health check monitoring, CI/CD approaches and tools.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Compliance with DoDM 8140.03: A degree (minimum Bachelors, from an ABET accredited or CAE designated institution) in either: Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Software Engineering. Four years of experience in a related field in addition to one of the following current certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree: Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, SSCP, CCNP Security, CCSP, FITSP-O, GFACT, or SecurityX / CASP+. OR
+ Non-Compliance with DoDM 8140.03: Four or more (4+) years of progressive experience in large scale systems administration or software development for software projects, including at least 1 year in a role focused on system health check monitoring (ex. Nagios, Splunk, Grafana), DevOps, CI/CD, IaC, or related and Two or more (2+) years of technical experience with complex software development projects, particularly modernization or migration efforts shifting from legacy systems (PowerBuilder, Oracle, or similar) to cloud-based platforms (AWS, Java Microservices, Kubernetes, Docker) – including managing a hybrid pipeline for deployment and configuration management using a Distributed Version Control System (Git) as functionality shifts from the as-is and destination platforms related to performance, transition risk, and team velocity in addition to one of the following current certifications: Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, SSCP, CCNP Security, CCSP, FITSP-O, GFACT, or SecurityX / CASP+.
+ Experience working with an interconnected mix of software systems, back-end processes, and integration functionality – including transactional systems, business intelligence and reports, and data integration pipelines via both traditional ETL and modern application programming interface (API) or message-queue approaches.
+ Experience with tools and capabilities such as Gitlab (including runners, pipelines, and API access), Jenkins, Atlassian (Jira/Confluence), OpenID Connect (OIDC), and scripting languages (ex. Bash, JavaScript, Python, Groovy, PowerShell).
+ Exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving, and trade-off analysis skills – particularly cross-team coordination where an architecture change has an impact to multiple sub-systems.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Enterprise logistics and supply chain experience, particularly medical logistics exposure related to inventory and cataloging, life-cycle management/tracking, and related industry/regulatory standards – and an understanding of logistics-related challenges as they relate to software system design and improvement.
+ Experience with the AWS GovCloud environment and managing architecture that spans a mix of existing legacy/migrating systems and cloud-based software.
+ Experience with API integration between Atlassian and Gitlab.
+ Experience or certification with the SAFe, CI/CD approaches, and advanced DevOps practices.
+ Compliance with DoDM 8140.03 Core KSATs under DCWF Work Role 627 (DevSecOps Specialist – Intermediate): Skill in: Conducting vulnerabilities scans; Recognizing vulnerabilities in information systems; Developing operations-based testing scenarios. Ability to: Identify systemic security issues based on the analysis of vulnerability and configuration data; Conduct vulnerability scans and recognize vulnerability in security systems; Develop curriculum for use within a virtual environment. Knowledge of: Systems testing and evaluation methods; Systems security testing and evaluation methods; Known vulnerabilities from alerts, advisories, errata, and bulletins; The systems engineering process; IT risk management policies, requirements, and procedures; Platforms for managing containerized workloads and services; Threat modeling, risk assessment techniques, and current best practices; How security impacts each development phase; The steps for release to higher levels of integration testing, certification activities, and/or operation; Every stage in the software project lifecycle, from initial design and build to rollout and maintenance
**Clearance Requirements:**
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen with Public Trust suitability and a completed Tier 2 Investigation for DoD Common Access Card (CAC) prior to starting.
**Physical Requirements:**
+ The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The person in this position will need to be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
