We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer with experience in the manufacturing, inspection, and acceptance of high reliability Electronics Assemblies of varying complexities. The selected candidate will investigate, evaluate, resolve, and prevent quality issues by conducting plant audits, analyzing defect trends, leading continuous improvement projects, and applying corrective & preventive action tools. Supplier Quality Engineer will work along Manufacturing & Program Quality, Engineering, Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain to ensure quality compliance with delivered parts. The incumbent will manage several Assembly Areas being interface between BAE Plant and Suppliers. Candidate must be a self-starting problem solver able to manage multiple demands such us: containment actions, process changes, supplier deviations, non-conformance investigations, supplier returns, corrective actions reviews, quality inspections... strong communication skills are required to ensure suppliers understand requirements and expectations.
This role will be reporting to the Supplier Quality Manager.
Expected Travel requirement< 10%. This will be local suppliers and other BAE plants
Additionally you will:
+ Utilize supplier Scorecards/metrics and analytical tools to quantify performance levels of individual suppliers.
+ Evaluate the impact of non-conforming product and supplier mitigation.
+ Lead containment actions and root cause analysis reviews with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances.
+ Issue Supplier Corrective Action Requests (based on 8-D methodology)
+ Manage disposition of non-conformal material and Vendor returns (RTV-RMA).
+ Read across supplier risks with other BAE plants.
+ Train suppliers to meet BAE s expectations, PO Quality clauses as well as Drive Zero Defect mentality within the supply base.
+ Review correct drawing data base and Counterfeit Reporting.
+ Manage Quality Holds.
+ Audit Suppliers according to Production Validation Process (PVA).
+ Participate in Strategic Sourcing Efforts & Technical Interchange Meetings. Link Supplier assignation Products to Vendors as well as Maintaining Supplier Vendor List.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Work Experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Supply Chain Engineering role
+ Experience in Aerospace, Automotive or Defense Electronics Manufacturing.
+ Working knowledge of AS9100 Or IATF Quality System
+ Experience with electrical/mechanical inspections, product test, equipment, and instrumentation
+ Direct knowledge of Manufacturing processes and supply chain logistics from raw material to finished goods.
+ Effective, practical problem solver using structured problem-solving methods and systems.
+ Effective communicator, able to express ideas clearly, directly, and objectively.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience
+ AS9102C First Article Requirements, AS9145 APQP/PPAP Requirements, and Source Inspection.
+ Working knowledge and familiarity with IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronics Assemblies), IPC J-STD-001, and IPC J-STD-002 (Solderability tests for component leads and terminations).
+ Previous experience SMT manufacturing industry.
+ Familiarity with APQP and PPAP and process tools such as PFMEA and Control Plan
+ Practical experience with Lean Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma
+ Green / Black Belt certification from a recognized organization
+ Working knowledge of the principles and the purpose of a Quality Management System
+ Eligibility to obtain a security clearance from the Department of Defense.
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $79370 - $134929
