Hardware Technician

**MANTECH** seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented **Hardware Technician** to join our team at the Fort **Meade, MD** location.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:**

+ Troubleshoot malfunctioning specialized classified equipment using a wide variety of test equipment & diagnostic software to pinpoint root causes of hardware failure.

+ Perform precise mechanical and electrical repairs and calibrations, including micro-soldering, capacitor replacement, screen replacements, and port repairs (USB-C, HDMI, etc.).

+ Disassemble devices, clean internal components (fans, heatsinks), reapply thermal paste, and cleanly reassemble units to factory standards.

+ Run comprehensive post-repair benchmarks and stress tests to ensure hardware stability and full functionality before redeployment.

+ Parts Management: Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, request components for ordering, and document all parts used in the ticketing system.

+ Strictly adhere to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) safety protocols and guidelines for handling hazardous materials like damaged lithium-ion batteries.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ 1+ years of experience with a high school diploma or equivalent

+ Proficiency with precision hand tools, test equipment, soldering irons, heat guns, and rework stations.

+ Deep knowledge of internal device anatomy (E.g. motherboards, power supplies, logic boards, LCD panels).

+ Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, board views, and technical repair manuals.

+ Solid understanding of ESD safety procedures and proper chemical usage (e.g., Isopropyl alcohol, flux).

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Technical school degree or certifications in electronics/computer repair

+ CompTIA A+ IPC A-610 or IPC-7711/7721 (Soldering/Rework Certifications)

+ Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT) / Vendor-specific repair certs (Dell, HP, Lenovo)

**Clearance Requirements:**

+ Must have a current/active TS/SCI w/ Poly

**Physical Requirements:**

+ Must be able to move and lift 40 pounds.

+ Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

+ Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling microscopic or fragile components.

+ Strong attention to detail; ability to work under a microscope or magnifying lamp for extended periods.
