Job Duties
Operates all equipment in an effective, safe and efficient manner
Formulates and employs safe radiographic exposure factors and minimizes radiation dosage on each exam.
Follow the safety steps required to perform their duties and be in compliance with medical, state and federal safety standards. They must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriately.
Must be proficient in all aspects of ordered X-ray procedures. This service provides diagnostic images for interpretation by the Radiologist.
Effectively utilizes all necessary computer systems in compliance with HIPPA guidelines.
Obtains and records all patient data as required by the medical center, state, JCAHO or other agencies. Ensure proper charging of all procedures, coding, and modifiers are correct.
Reviews images for high quality. Assist in performing QC, QA, QI or ACR as necessary.
Performs routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment. Notifies supervision and clinical engineering of malfunctions or breakdowns. Follows disinfectant guidelines for equipment cleaning as set by department standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:
- Education and National Credentials:
- Graduate of an approved accredited program of Radiologic Technology.
- CPR certified
- ARRT(R) registered or eligible (see below for individual state requirements)
- State Licensure:
Kentucky

- KBMIRT Radiation Operator's License - Radiography (Temporary or Permanent)
- Associate has 12 months from the issuance of a Temporary KBMIRT Radiation Operator’s License - Radiography to obtain ARRT(R).
- KBMIRT Radiation Operator's License - Radiography (Temporary or Permanent)
Indiana

- Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) License - (Radiologic Technologist or Radiology Student Permit)
- Associate has 6 months from the issuance of a Radiology Student Permit to obtain ARRT(R).
- Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) License - (Radiologic Technologist or Radiology Student Permit)
- Associate or Bachelor Degree
Specialized Knowledge:
- Excellent understanding of radiation protection of patients, peers, and self.
- Competence in routine, fluoroscopic, surgical and trauma radiography.
Kind and Length of Experience:
- Adequate clinical experience from an approved program.
