Depot Technician I

CTG is seeking to fill a Depot Technician I position for our client.

**Location:** Durham, NC

**Duration:** 12+ months, with possibility for extension

**Position Summary**

We are seeking a Depot Technician I to join a fast-paced repair center environment supporting point-of-sale (POS) equipment and related hardware. This role is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and documenting repairs on electronic equipment while maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy. The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical aptitude, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented production environment.

**Key Responsibilities**

+ Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair POS systems, printers, displays, system units, and related hardware components.

+ Perform bench-level repairs using diagnostics, testing procedures, and visual inspections.

+ Replace defective components, clean equipment, and verify operational performance.

+ Accurately document repair activities, parts usage, and equipment status in system applications.

+ Maintain high productivity and quality standards while meeting service objectives.

+ Support inventory management, parts handling, and pick/pack/ship operations.

+ Assist with training new team members on repair processes and system procedures.

+ Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

+ Follow all established safety and operational procedures.

**Required Skills**

+ Minimum 1 year of experience in electronics repair, assembly, or related technical work.

+ Ability to use hand tools and perform repairs on small electronic components.

+ Basic computer skills and experience working with system-based applications.

+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

+ Ability to follow testing procedures and technical instructions.

+ Excellent documentation and recordkeeping abilities.

+ Strong teamwork and communication skills.

+ Ability to consistently produce accurate, high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Experience working in a computer hardware repair or depot repair environment.

+ Familiarity with POS equipment, computer systems, or related electronic devices.

**Physical Requirements**

+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.

+ Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the workday.

+ Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, and twisting.

+ Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.

**Schedule**

+ Full-time position located in Durham, NC.

+ Typical shifts are 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 10:00 AM–7:00 PM.

+ Hours may vary between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.

+ Rotational Saturdays are required.

+ Overtime may be required based on business needs.

+ No travel required.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
