Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Propulsion Systems Division is currently seeking a **Manager** **Aeronautical Engineering 2** to provide leadership to our Aeronautical Engineering team at Propulsion Systems **Promontory, Utah Campus.**

**Role description & Responsibilities:**

This engineering management position is a for a first line manager position with supervisory responsibilities for a team of analysts and design engineers to support all design and analysis related activities for Promontory based programs. The work involves coordination with Project Engineering on tasks for the loaded motor team, leading a team of approximately 10-12 engineers, and working as an individual contributor in a loaded motor engineering discipline.

**Job Duties:**

+ Lead a Loaded Motor design and analysis team with design engineers and analysts in CFD, thermal, ballistics, and PLI

+ Coordinate scope and schedule for engineering tasks with Project Engineering

+ Complete engineering analysis or design related tasks related to the Loaded Motor

+ Team management responsibilities for career development and employee performance

+ Maintain and establish certification and technical standards for engineering design and analysis

**Experience Requirements:**

+ M.S. degree with 7 years experience or B.S. degree with 9 years experience

+ Ability to obtain a security clearance

+ Engineering analysis (PLI, thermal, or ballistics) or design experience with solid rocket motors

**Experience Preferred:**

+ Engineering analyst in ballistics or thermal

+ Experience with grid generation and CAD

+ Prior experience managing or leading a team

**Skills & Qualifications:**

+ Strong application skills analytical software, including geometry preparation and grid generation

+ Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly present technical information in both written and oral formats

+ Team oriented with a proactive approach to problem solving

**Education/Certifications**

+ Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required and 9 years or a MS and 7 years or PhD and 4 years of experience

+ U.S. Citizenship is required for this position

**Salary Range:** $131,200 - $169,800

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
