You Are
We are seeking a seasoned High Tech Industry Leader to drive the digital transformation of the world's leading semiconductor, electronics, and hardware manufacturing companies. This executive role is focused on establishing Google Cloud as the essential platform for innovation in the high-tech sector—from silicon design and fabrication to supply chain management and the creation of intelligent, connected devices.
The Work
You will be responsible for helping these engineering-driven organizations leverage Google Cloud's massive-scale compute, Data, AI, and agentic capabilities to accelerate R&D, build more resilient supply chains, and define the next generation of smart products. The ideal candidate will have deep domain expertise in the hardware and semiconductor lifecycle and a clear vision for how cloud technology can revolutionize this complex industry.
Key Responsibilities
+ Strategic Industry Leadership: You will be responsible for defining and executing Google Cloud's comprehensive go-to-market strategy for the High Tech industry. This involves identifying the unique challenges and opportunities within sub-verticals like semiconductors, consumer electronics, and industrial hardware. You will serve as the senior voice of the industry inside Google, translating the needs of engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain leaders into actionable strategies for our product, infrastructure, and engineering teams.
+ Engineering and R&D Transformation: You will act as a trusted advisor to the CTOs and VPs of Engineering at our most strategic high-tech customers. Your primary focus will be on transforming their core R&D processes by leveraging Google Cloud's unparalleled compute infrastructure for workloads like Electronic Design Automation (EDA), simulation, and digital twin creation. You will guide them in adopting cloud-native approaches to shorten chip design cycles, improve verification, and accelerate time-to-market.
+ Data, AI, and Smart Operations: You will spearhead the application of Google's Data and AI platforms to create intelligent manufacturing operations and resilient supply chains. This includes developing solutions for yield optimization in semiconductor fabs, predictive maintenance for manufacturing equipment, and advanced supply chain analytics for demand forecasting and risk management. You will also drive the use of generative AI and intelligent agents to automate factory floor operations and create new services for connected, intelligent edge devices.
+ Ecosystem and Partner Development: Success in the high-tech industry is built on a complex partner ecosystem. You will be responsible for building and nurturing strategic alliances with key players, including EDA tool vendors, Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), equipment manufacturers, and specialized software providers. Your goal is to create a powerful, integrated ecosystem on Google Cloud that provides end-to-end solutions for our customers, from design to distribution.
+ Thought Leadership and Market Influence: As the public face of Google Cloud for the High Tech sector, you will be responsible for establishing our credibility and thought leadership. This involves speaking at key industry conferences (e.g., Design Automation Conference, SEMICON West), publishing technical papers on advanced cloud use cases, and engaging with industry analysts and media. You will demonstrate how Google Cloud is uniquely positioned to solve the most difficult computational and data challenges in the industry, solidifying our role as a fundamental partner for high-tech innovation.
Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 0 to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.
Here's what you need
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science (or a related technical field) or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate’s Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience)
+ Minimum of 15 years of experience in a senior leadership role within the semiconductor, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing industry.
+ Minimum of 7 years of experience and deep domain expertise in at least one major area of the high-tech value chain, such as chip design (EDA), semiconductor manufacturing, supply chain management, or hardware engineering.
+ Minimum of 7 years of experience and proven track record of leading large-scale, technology-driven initiatives in a high-tech context.
Bonus Points if you have
+ Master's degree or PhD in a relevant technical field.
+ Direct experience leveraging public cloud platforms (preferably Google Cloud) for demanding technical workloads like EDA, HPC, or large-scale data analytics.
+ Experience deploying AI/ML solutions in a manufacturing or engineering environment to drive specific outcomes like yield improvement, predictive maintenance, or design optimization.
+ An established network of executive-level relationships within the high-tech industry, including semiconductor companies, EDA vendors, and hardware manufacturers.
+ Exceptional executive presence and technical credibility, with experience presenting complex topics to both engineering and executive audiences.
