**Summary:**

We are seeking a candidate for a key project leadership role leading project controls operations for Meta’s Data Center Portfolio, which is of critical strategic importance for Meta's infrastructure growth. The Project Controls Lead is a technical subject matter expert overseeing all cost controls, risk management & commercial deliveries on the program and across multiple General Contractors. This person will be a critical partner for the Delivery(Construction) Team. Leadership, communication, and organization skills are important in this highly collaborative, analytical, and strategic role. This position will work closely within the DEC (Design, Engineering and Construction) Operations team and various internal departments including Site Project Management teams, Pre-Construction, Contracts, Finance, Accounting, Sourcing and Operations Engineering.

**Required Skills:**

Area Project Controls Lead - Data Center Design, Engineering and Construction Responsibilities:

1. Technical lead in Cost Controls, including budget management, forecasting, change management diligence / Owner Change Order quality, invoice review, accruals, and risk facilitation

2. Analyze and communicate the projects' Project Controls Health (financial, change, and risk) to project and Design, Engineering and Construction leadership

3. Identify project commercial risk mitigation opportunities in collaboration with the Schedule Lead, Delivery team, and XFN partners, and drive those opportunities into resolution

4. Support the Preconstruction team in the review of General Contractor contracts & commercial terms, gathering of historical data, incorporation of master contract terms, communication, and management of finalized internal budget

5. Provide support of Areas projects’ cost forecasts, cash flow risks, and variances monthly/quarterly for communication to Site Leadership and downstream business partners

6. Direct communication with Schedule Lead to ensure collaboration and alignment of project health between cost and schedule and overall project risk

7. Approximately 25-50% travel to other Data Center sites and company offices

8. 10+ years of Construction Project Controls experience

9. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Equivalent Technical Field or related field experience

10. Subject Matter Expert in Cost management, construction change orders, and risk management

11. Experience in Earned Value Management or collection and analysis of resource data

12. Experience in Data Center, Manufacturing, Infrastructure or Construction programs requiring complicated commissioning specifications

13. Proficient in Oracle Unifier

14. Demonstrated analytical, communication, problem solving, prioritization, organization and reporting skills

15. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)

16. Experience negotiating construction changes or complex construction claims

17. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

18. Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to influence strategic direction

19. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

20. Successful development and implementation of project controls strategies in a large organization

21. Experience developing and driving actions or operational adjustments based on project controls performance metrics

22. Experience leading complex project or program project controls among a large group of internal and external project stakeholders

**Public Compensation:**

$150,000/year to $209,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
