Senior Manager, Category Management

Advance your career as a Senior Manager, Category Management supporting our Kroger business. This position will be based at our Cincinnati, OH sales office on a hybrid schedule.

You will use your people management, thought leadership and analytical skills to ideate and execute category strategies in alignment with the customer’s priorities. Utilizing consumer insights, you will develop innovative solutions to drive business growth - all while building your expertise and network.

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing

+ Develop Learning Agenda with Customer – Bring your intellectual curiosity and proactive initiation of category management activities with the customer, developing innovative retailer solutions based on consumer and shopper insights to drive goals and objectives.

+ Unlock Insights Through Data & Analytics – Knowing your business is imperative to driving business results. You will be responsible for leading category management activities with the customer and will identify business insights leveraging robust analytics of the category, consumer, shopper, market and customer information.

+ Bring Occasion-Based Category Vision to Life – High degree of internal and external customer interaction. As a trusted business consultant, you will provide objective category reviews and strategies that strive to achieve innovative mutually beneficial sales and market share goals.

+ Build Fact-Based, Measurable and Holistic Plans – Your project management skills are crucial for leading customer-specific initiatives aimed at driving category growth. You’ll present and negotiate projects related to product placement, leveraging resources to address shopper problems. Successfully executing these initiatives is essential for achieving your goals.

+ Empower and Develop Talent – You will leverage the strengths of your direct report to overdeliver on customer expectations, all while fostering an inclusive, dynamic and cross-functional experience that promotes team growth and contributes to a healthy and vibrant culture.

We’re Looking for Someone With

+ Bachelor’s Degree

+ Significant industry experience (i.e. Category Management, Shopper/Consumer Insights and/or sales experience)

+ Proficiency in using syndicated data (i.e. Nielsen, Circana), and retailer specific loyalty card data, shopper panel metrics and space planning software. (JDA, Apollo or Spaceman)

+ Previous experience in leading and developing a team

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office

+ Previous experience communicating complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels, both in writing and verbally
