**Pay Range:** $94,827 - $154,315 per year

The pay range for each role reflects Rush’s anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.

**Summary:**

The Manager of Accounting provides strategic financial oversight and operational accounting leadership for the Rush System for Health (RUSH) multi‑channel pharmacy enterprise. This role ensures the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of financial activities across a diverse portfolio of pharmacy operations, including retail, specialty, home infusion, hospital infusion, physician‑clinic infusion, home delivery, investigational drug services, and emerging pharmacy ventures.

Operating within a large, multi‑entity academic health system, the Manager of Accounting leads core accounting functions—general ledger management, financial statement preparation, audit coordination, and monthly close—while applying healthcare‑specific accounting standards (GAAP and statutory requirements). This role partners closely with pharmacy and finance leadership, exemplifying the RUSH mission, vision, and values and ensuring reliable, transparent financial outcomes across all pharmacy channels.

**Required Job Qualifications:**

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

• CPA or MBA.

• Five years of public accounting or healthcare industry experience.

• Strong Excel and analytic skills.

• Self-directed with an emphasis on timeliness and accountability.

**Responsibilities:**

1. Manages the revenue cycle portion of the financial statement close for a multi-specialty faculty physician plan of 370+ employed physicians.

2. Prepares financial statement packages for physician practices and the Rush University Medical Center Hospital for senior financial management.

3. Prepares monthly analyses of revenue cycle trends for physician practices and the hospital.

4. Prepares monthly analyses of bad debt/free care and contractual allowance reserves on the balance sheet for physician practices and the hospital.

5. Provides net revenue assumptions for long-term financial plans and prepares net revenue budgets for physician practices and the hospital.

6. Maintains detailed understanding of reimbursement for physician practices through collaboration with the Managed Care Contracting department and physician billing entity.

7. Becomes an expert user of the Epic patient accounting system including developing advanced report writing capabilities.

8. Satisfies requests for ad-hoc reports from senior financial reporting. Collaborates with the Decision Support area to verify the accuracy of profitability reporting for physician practices and the hospital.

9. Becomes an expert user of Insights contracting system to compare expected payments based on contract versus actual payments.

10. Represents Corporate Finance at divisional meeting with Medical Affairs, Vyridian, Rush University Medical Group (RUMG) and other internal constituents.

11. Prepares community benefit analysis for RUMG.

12. Acts as project lead for financial audits regarding physician practices and is the primary liaison to external agencies.
