**_MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE_**

Position is responsible to oversee and provide leadership to an global strategic marketing operation responsible for identifying market opportunities, establishing direction to meet long-term goals and leading the team to achieve those goals.

**Role Description:**

+ The Director of Competitive Intelligence and Foresight will bring outside-in thinking to help drive GMEA Brand prioritization, vision setting and action-planning.

+ The role requires an experienced CI/futures practitioner who can gather and translate meaningful intelligence into the “so what” and “now what” for Abbott Brand-building.

+ We are looking for a skilled communicator and storyteller who is comfortable presenting/debating with Abbott Senior Leadership to drive new strategic thinking and actions that drive competitive advantage.

**Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:**

+ Build and manage a comprehensive competitive intelligence approach that delivers on-going timely competitor Brand insights; incl. early warning capabilities, business-implications, and recommended actions.

+ Lead competitor war-gaming program design and execution to better anticipate and counter the competition; include learnings and recommended actions to drive the GMEA business-planning process.

+ Build a new foresight capability to effectively horizon scan the environment and uncover emerging competitive and market signals; develop heat map of emerging signals, recommend Brand-building opportunities, and mitigate risks.

+ Develop and run quarterly GMEA deep-dive learning sessions on emerging impactful competitive trends.

+ Build/manage a GMEA competitive war-room.

+ Develop and execute necessary GMEA and Abbott CI training.

**Qualifications & Skills**

+ A related business or science degree.

+ Minimum 10 years’ experience in a related role.

+ Analytics acumen: ability to interrogate, analyze and interpret mass data from multiple sources, drawing meaningful conclusions and recommendations.

+ Strong communication and data storytelling skills; comfortable presenting to large senior groups.

The base pay for this position is $143,300.00 – $286,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
