**Pay Range:** $32.00 - $46.44 per hour

Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. The pay range for each role reflects Rush’s anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case. **Summary:**

The Community Education Associate will lead a variety of initiatives and projects to support the overarching goals of the Office of Community Engagement -RUSH Education and Career Hub (REACH) department. This is an opportunity to expand programs, build relationships and develop strategies to increase educational attainment and support a cradle to career pipeline to STEM/Healthcare fields. Initiatives and projects include instructional coaching and curriculum development, coordination of professional development opportunities, and development and implementation of family and community engagement. The individual who holds this position exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

**Other information:**

1. Professional Educators License (PEL) with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education, Birth-2nd grade

2. Master’s degree in Education, Science Education, Health Education, or related field from an accredited university.

3. A minimum of three years of teaching experience.

**Skills:**

• Exceptional written, verbal, organizational, and technology skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Google, Excel).

• Strong time management and prioritization skills required.

• Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.

• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders within and outside of Rush with varying interests and objectives.

• Team work and experience with multi-age groupings is necessary.

• Ability to transport equipment and materials to schools, organizations and the Rush community is required.

**Responsibilities:**

1. Builds relationships with partner schools, organizations, and the Rush community to support STEM/Healthcare learning, education, and enrichment for youth

2. Collaborates with educators to develop and implement STEM/Healthcare integrated units; models should be aligned to standards, STEM focused instruction and evidence based practices

3. Coordinates professional development opportunities focused on STEM instructional practices

4. Collaborates and coordinates efforts with school leadership, teachers, Rush employees and volunteers

5. Serves as a primary contact for program partners, affinity groups, and community organization

6. Manages new initiatives and expansion projects as part of the RUSH Education & Career Hub (REACH) including serving as the partner liaison for select school community partners

7. Maintains documentation of program components regarding service to the community for departmental records

8. Assists with efforts to improve programmatic quality; including developing, implementing, and collecting appropriate measurement tools

9. Assists with submissions for grants or contracts through federal, foundation, private, and/or other sponsors

10. Assists with creation of marketing strategies and materials to increase awareness and participation in programs

11. Assists with development of annual budget to support program and department initiatives

12. Attends team meetings, workshops, and in-service training provided by the Office of Community Engagement, Rush Education and Career Hub (REACH), and Rush University Medical Center as job related and for professional growth

13. Purchases, organizes, and maintains equipment and materials in the work environment

14. Other duties as assigned
