**Job Description:**

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

The AWS Systems Engineer specializing in Windows will provide support to our customer hosted workspaces and support the development of specialized in-house products. The candidate will be tasked with providing guidance and insight on potential improvements to our services along with the application infrastructure within the Windows ecosystem. The hands-on AWS Systems Engineer will need experience building and deploying tools, cloud infrastructure and processes to enable software developer productivity. They must be at ease working in an agile environment with a cross-functional team. This person should embody a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

+ Work with a team to administer Windows or Linux-based AWS cloud and on-prem hosts within the customer environment and company lab environment in a repeatable and reliable manner

+ Design systems, collaborate with teammates, and provide recommendations for customers in sup-port of an AWS Workspaces environment in an AWS Account

+ Harden systems in support of customer security controls, apply updates and patches, and manage the underlying hardware

+ Mitigate all vulnerability findings from network scans

+ Manage security and policy through the application of Group Policy Objects (GPO)

+ Collaborate with a cross-functional team of Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Analysts, Project Managers and other engineering groups to gather requirements and elicit input for the network and infrastructure

+ Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in production systems and platforms.

+ Troubleshoots complex problems and provide customer support for software systems and application issues.

+ Provide recommendations for continuous improvement

+ Write and update technical documentation such as system engineering documentation, implementation processes, and operational procedures.

+ Work alongside other engineers on the team to sustain and advance our organization’s capabilities.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**

+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, and work/military experience.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**

+ Hands on experience with Tier 3 Support in a Linux and Windows System environment

+ Hands on experience with network configuration in cloud environments, with tasks configuring Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), subnets, security groups, route tables, etc.

+ Experience with ensuring the stability, security, and performance of AWS accounts

+ Hands-on experience with DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory integration

+ Hands-on experience with Backup and Recovery enterprise suites

+ Hands on experience with hardening, patching or troubleshooting Linux OS systems

+ Hands on experience with implementing and managing Windows Active Directory

+ Proficiencies with logging tools to effectively monitor the health and performance of AWS resources

+ TS/SCI w/Polygraph

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

+ Experience creating AWS workspaces, highly desired

+ Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions

+ Demonstrated hands-on experience using scripting for task automation, data transfer, etc.

+ Experience with configuring and managing Remote Desktop Services

+ Demonstrated hands-on experience with technologies like Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)

+ Demonstrated hands-on experience with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)

+ Demonstrated hands-on experience working with VMWare and maintaining virtualized systems

The likely salary range for this position is $170,000 - $230,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
