Physical Therapist

**Job Summary and Responsibilities**

**$3,000 Sign-On Bonus offered for qualified new hires. Per policy, current employees are not eligible.**

As our Physical Therapist, you will help pediatric, adult, and/or geriatric patients assess, develop, and implement individual patient treatment programs so they can improve their physical function and achieve their rehabilitation goals through current and effective methodologies.

Every day you will complete patient evaluations within 48 hours of initiation, including thorough assessments of all relevant areas and the establishment of appropriate, problem-focused goals. You will be expected to provide effective and adequate treatment, adapt goals and treatment interventions based on ongoing assessment, educate patients and families comprehensively, and meticulously document all aspects of care in compliance with department policy.

To be successful in this role you must possess a California PT license, demonstrate excellent oral and written communication, time management, and problem-solving skills, have a deep knowledge of current physical therapy techniques and human anatomy, and exhibit the ability to assess patient conditions based on sound pathophysiological principles and develop appropriate treatment plans.

**Job Requirements**

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ Education: From an accredited school of Physical Therapy.

+ Current California License as a Physical Therapist or PTLA approved work status.

+ Current BLS certification (AHA)

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Previous experience as a Physical Therapist is preferred.

**Licensure:**

+ Physical Therapist: CA (PT:CA) within 6 - months

+ Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR) upon hire

**Special Skills:**

_Knowledge of:_

+ Current physical therapy techniques, standards, principles, and procedures.

+ Human anatomy and physiology with emphasis on musculoskeletal, circulatory, and nervous systems.

+ Medical terminology.

+ Proper body mechanics.

+ Infection control procedures.

_Ability to:_

+ Assess patient condition based upon sound pathophysiological principles.

+ Develop and implement appropriate patient treatment plan.

+ Complete and maintain records of Physical Therapy observations, treatments, and actions.

+ Plan and organize work effectively and efficiently.

+ Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with physicians, nursing, and other hospital personnel.

+ Maintain the confidentiality of medical information.

+ Fully meet the obligations of the Mission and Philosophy of Dignity Health.

+ Flexibility to work within a changing health care environment.

_Physical Factors:_

+ Physically able to walk, stand, stoop, and lift.

+ Good manual dexterity.

+ Visual and auditory acuity.

Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center is a 384-bed not-for-profit Level 2 Trauma Center located in Carmichael California. **Pay Range**

$49.78 - $74.05 /hour
