**Job Description:**

**Work Schedule: 7a-3:30p, call required.**

+ Prepares and maintains sterile surgical fields, instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications needed for procedures.

+ Assists the surgical team during procedures by scrubbing, gowning, gloving, draping, and passing instruments and supplies to surgeons.

+ Ensures patient safety and compliance by maintaining sterile technique, performing surgical counts accurately, and responding appropriately to emergencies.

+ Handles surgical specimens with accuracy and prepares instruments and equipment for terminal sterilization and subsequent procedures.

+ Supports efficient operating room turnover by assisting with room cleaning, setup, and preparation for the next patient.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**

+ Interpersonal Skills [Required]

+ Completion of validation skills [Required]

+ Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up [Required]

+ Knowledge of sterilization techniques [Required]

+ Knowledge to anticipate critical emergencies of Specialty Call Team [Required]

+ Ability to organize, promote, and conduct relevant in-services on unit [Required]

**Education:**

+ High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

+ Technical/Vocational School [Required]

**Field of Study:**

+ N/A

**Work Experience:**

+ 2+ years as certified surgical tech [Preferred]

**Additional Information:**

**Licenses and Certifications:**

+ Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

+ State Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] **OR** NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] **OR** Technician in Surgery TS-C (NCCT) [Required]

**Pay Range:**

$22.66 - $42.14
