**Scope of Work:** Support the I-35 Capital Expressway project by coordinating field logistics, transporting tools, materials, equipment, and documentation, and helping maintain the readiness, compliance, and safe operation of company fleet vehicles. This hybrid role supports active construction sites, project teams, suppliers, the main yard, and fleet operations to help minimize downtime and keep field work running safely and efficiently.
**Responsibilities**
+ Transport materials, specialized tools, fixtures, blueprints, permits, and equipment between suppliers, fabricators, the main yard, and active construction sites.
+ Complete urgent supply runs to local hardware stores, lumber yards, and specialty distributors as directed by project superintendents.
+ Safely load, secure, transport, and unload materials and machinery, ensuring cargo is delivered without damage.
+ Collect, reconcile, and submit packing slips, delivery tickets, and purchasing receipts to project coordinators and accounting each day.
+ Assist site teams with offloading, organizing storage containers, basic debris clearing, and staging materials near work zones.
+ Schedule, dispatch, and track routine preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs with third-party service providers.
+ Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, including checks of vehicle cleanliness, fluid levels, tire pressure, and required safety equipment.
+ Maintain digital fleet records for vehicle registrations, state inspections, insurance cards, service histories, and driver assignments.
+ Manage vehicle checkout procedures, key tracking, and the staging or relocation of trucks, vans, and trailers among company facilities, jobsites, and repair shops.
+ Follow applicable site-safety requirements, safe lifting practices, and proper cargo-securing procedures.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ High school diploma or GED equivalent.
+ Minimum 1+ years of combined experience in construction site support, courier or delivery driving, or automotive or fleet administration.
+ Valid driver’s license required.
+ Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet company standards.
+ Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
+ Ability to repeatedly lift, push, pull, and carry items weighing up to 50 to 75 pounds.
+ Strong local-road knowledge, familiarity with construction supply vendors, and proficiency with GPS routing applications.
+ Ability to enter and maintain information in spreadsheets, fleet-management software, or similar systems; basic familiarity with telematics platforms preferred.
+ Basic understanding of automotive components, routine service intervals, and dashboard warning indicators.
+ Knowledge of safe cargo-securing methods, general construction safety standards, and proper lifting techniques.
**Working Conditions & Physical Demands**
+ Work is split among driving company vehicles, visiting active construction sites, working in equipment yards, and completing desk-based fleet and delivery records.
+ Work includes exposure to varied weather conditions, road traffic, and active construction-site environments.
+ Standard construction PPE, including a hard hat, high-visibility vest, steel-toe boots, and eye protection, is required during site visits and material handling.
