IT Software Engineering 3 – Full Stack Developer (P3)

Role Overview

As an IT Software Engineer 3 (P3) at UKG, you will play a key role in building and scaling enterprise-grade applications that power internal platforms and employee-facing experiences. This role requires strong full stack expertise, with a focus on modern frontend technologies, cloud-native development on GCP, and microservices-based architectures.

You will also leverage emerging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Codex, Claude Code) to accelerate delivery and improve engineering efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop full stack applications for UKG internal platforms

Build modern, responsive UIs using React and Next.js

Develop microservices and REST APIs using scalable backend frameworks

Containerize applications using Docker and support cloud-native deployments

Build and operate solutions on GCP (Cloud Run, GKE, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, etc.)

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions

Apply best practices for scalability, security, and performance

Leverage AI coding tools (Codex, Claude Code, Copilot) to improve productivity

Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release processes

Monitor and support production systems, ensuring reliability and observability.

Required Qualifications

4–7 years of experience in full stack software engineering

Strong experience with:

Frontend: React.js, Next.js, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, CSS

Backend: Node.js / Python / Java (at least one)

Experience building microservices and REST APIs

Hands-on experience with Docker (containerization)

Experience with GCP services (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, etc.)

Familiarity with databases (PostgreSQL, NoSQL)

Exposure to AI-assisted development tools

Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices

Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to Kubernetes (GKE) and container orchestration concepts

Knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging systems

Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform or similar)

Familiarity with observability tools (logging, monitoring, tracing)

Exposure to enterprise platforms (ServiceNow, HR/Finance systems)
