Supplier Engagement Manager- Software Development

The delivery of innovative mobile app and cloud software products is one example for how we are revolutionizing the way in which our customers manage their health. Our locations in Alameda, CA, Bend, OR and Orlando, FL currently have an opportunity for a Supplier Engagement Manager, who will play a key role in supporting our efforts to develop these software products.

In this role, you will play a critical part in bridging the gap between our internal staffing needs and the expertise offered by external suppliers. You will work closely with internal managers and directors to identify skill and resource gaps within our software development teams, and then develop and implement strategies to acquire the necessary talent through external partnerships. #software

**WHAT YOU’LL DO**

+ Partner with internal engineering and product management teams to understand their current and future software development needs, including specific skillsets and resource requirements.

+ Analyze project timelines and resource availability to identify potential staffing gaps that can be filled by external suppliers.

+ Research and identify qualified suppliers specializing in medical device software development, with a focus on finding partners who align with our company culture and values.

+ In conjunction with Procurement and Purchasing negotiate and finalize contracts with chosen suppliers, ensuring alignment with budget constraints and project goals.

+ Develop an onboarding playbook for supplier staff and ensure supplier staff are appropriately onboarded, trained, and re-trained as necessary.

+ Develop and implement a comprehensive performance management system for partnered suppliers, including regular reviews, performance assessments, and key performance indicator (KPI) tracking.

+ Proactively monitor supplier performance against agreed-upon timelines, budgets, quality standards, and compliance requirements.

+ Identify and address any potential performance issues promptly and effectively, working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and suppliers to develop corrective action plans.

+ Develop and maintain strong relationships with key supplier contacts, fostering open communication and collaborative problem-solving.

+ Generate reports and provide data analysis to internal stakeholders, keeping them informed on the effectiveness supplier partnerships.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE YOU WILL BRING**

**EDUCATION**

Bachelor’s degree in business, management, science / engineering, computer science or related discipline.

Or an equivalent combination of education AND work experience:

**EXPERIENCE**

+ Minimum 5-year project management experience.

+ Minimum 2-year software development experience.

+ Understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and project management methodologies.

+ Preferred: Understanding of the core concepts of software development including:

+ Front-end vs. Back-end development: A basic grasp of the differentiation between code that users interact with visually (front-end) and code that powers the application's logic (back-end).

+ Contemporary software architectures: Awareness of common architectural styles like microservices or cloud-based deployments. This doesn't require in-depth knowledge, but an understanding that software can be structured in different ways.

+ Programming languages: Familiarity with some of the most widely used programming languages in mobile and cloud development, such as Python, Java, JavaScript and React / React Native. This doesn't require coding ability, but basic knowledge of their applications.

+ Excellent communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills.

+ Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.

+ Experience working in a highly regulated environment is a plus.

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

+ Attention to detail, ability to manage multiple, diverse workstreams simultaneously.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.

The base pay for this position is $83,600.00 – $167,200.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
