**Job Description**

AECOM is seeking a Rail Operations and Maintenance Manager. This position is available as a remote work option.

**Responsibilities:**

**Operations Management**

+ Direct and oversee day-to-day rail operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient service.

+ Monitor operational performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.

+ Develop and maintain operating procedures, schedules, and contingency plans.

+ Coordinate service delivery activities and respond to operational disruptions and emergencies.

+ Ensure compliance with all applicable FRA, FTA, OSHA, and company regulations and standards.

**Maintenance Management**

+ Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for rolling stock, track, signals, facilities, and related infrastructure.

+ Develop maintenance schedules and asset management strategies to maximize system reliability.

+ Monitor equipment performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

+ Manage maintenance planning, resources, inventory, and vendor relationships.

+ Ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues affecting operations.

**Leadership & Team Development**

+ Lead, mentor, and develop operations and maintenance personnel.

+ Foster a culture centered on safety, accountability, teamwork, and customer service.

+ Conduct performance evaluations and support employee training and development.

+ Ensure adequate staffing and workforce planning to support operational requirements.

**Safety & Compliance**

+ Champion a strong safety culture across all departments.

+ Lead investigations of incidents, accidents, and service disruptions.

+ Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, operating rules, and maintenance standards.

+ Support audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.

**Budget & Strategic Planning**

+ Develop and manage departmental budgets.

+ Monitor expenditures and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies.

+ Support capital improvement projects and long-term asset management planning.

+ Provide operational analysis and reporting to senior leadership.

**Qualifications**

**Minimum:**

+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Transportation, Operations Management, Business, or a related field and ten years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership.

**Preferred:**

+ 7 years of progressive experience in rail operations, maintenance, or transportation management.

+ 3 years of leadership experience managing operational and/or maintenance teams.

+ Experience in rail systems, rolling stock, track infrastructure, signal systems, and maintenance practices.

+ Experience with safety management systems and regulatory compliance.

+ Experience in problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making

+ Experience in passenger rail, commuter rail, light rail, heavy rail, or transit systems.

+ Professional certifications related to transportation, maintenance, safety, or project management.

+ Familiarity with CMMS, asset management systems, and performance reporting tools.

+ Knowledge of FRA, FTA, OSHA, and applicable transportation regulations.

**Additional Information**

+ Relocation is not an option for this position,

+ Ability to work flexible schedules and respond to emergencies as required.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $175000 to $200000.
