The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA ) in the Endocrinology Clinic provides assistance in the examination and treatment of the patient, under the supervision of the Physician, Physician's Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner in the ambulatory setting.
Duties include:
- Chart review before patient clinical visit
- Assisting provider with procedure/treatments
- Assist with specimen collection
- Cleaning and sterilization of instruments
- Orders and inventories supplies
- Documents in Medical Record
- Medication Administration
Additionally, work requires the ability to gather and exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, greet visitors, explain medical center polices, and/or relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors and/or medical center employees. More sensitive situations may be referred to others as appropriate.
Shift:
Full Time (40 hours)
Day Shift; 7:30am - 5:00pm
Shift is 9 hours M-TH and 4 hours on F (9a-1p)
Minimum Requirements
- High school graduate/GED required. Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant training program required.
- 1-2 years experience as a CMA in an ambulatory setting is preferred.
- AAMA, RMA, NRCMA, NCMA, CCMA certification required
- Active BLS/CPR certification
