**Job Description**
CDM Smith is a recognized leader in water infrastructure, partnering with municipalities and private-sector clients to solve some of the most critical water challenges facing Texas today. We are growing our groundwater practice to support an expanding portfolio of municipal water supply and data center projects across the state, creating exciting opportunities for professionals who want to make a lasting impact.
In this role, you'll contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of groundwater systems that provide reliable, sustainable water resources for communities and some of the world's most advanced technology facilities. From major municipal water supply programs to large-scale data center developments, you'll work alongside industry-leading experts on projects that are shaping Texas' future while advancing your own technical and leadership career at CDM Smith.
+ Performs and signs off on basic to highly complex geophysical testing, geologic/seismic evaluations, /fault rupture hazard and slope stability investigations/hydrogeologic analysis (aquifer test analysis; geochemical analysis; geotechnical analysis; contaminant transport analysis etc.) in both surface and subsurface geologic conditions pertaining to water supply, contaminant and/or geotechnical assessments to meet client project requirements.
+ Prepares and/or reviews and signs off on draft and final reports, evaluations, and calculations for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
+ Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all assessments.
+ Schedules and reviews the work of subcontractors during project.
+ Contributes to firm's TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc.
+ Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
+ Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs).
+ Reviews draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations, and best practices.
+ Meets with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs.
+ May develop subcontracts for drilling, sampling, and geophysical testing, as necessary.
+ Attends conferences, symposia, etc.
+ to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.
+ Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff.
+ Mentors more junior staff and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm.
+ May supervise the work of junior staff on project work.
+ Performs other duties as required.
**Skills & Abilities**
+ Expert Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
+ Expert knowledge of scientific methods and processes.
+ Expert Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.).
+ Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
+ Expert knowledge of federal, state and local regulations.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline.
+ Registration as a licensed Professional Geologist, as certified by ASBOG.
+ 10 years of related experience.
+ Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
+ Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

**Driving Requirements**
An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.
**Heavy Equipment Operation Requirements**
Heavy equipment operation and proper licensing to operate heavy equipment is a requirement of the position.

**Pay Range Min**
USD $91,478.00
**Pay Range Max**
USD $160,118.00
**Additional Pay Range Information**
CDM Smith is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. In addition to geographic location, a candidate’s salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training.
**Additional Compensation**
All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
