Energy Sourcing Manager

**Summary:**

Meta's Energy Infrastructure Strategy and Investments team is seeking an experienced energy sourcing professional to lead electricity procurement vendor management for its global data center portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for commercial energy and clean energy supply to power Meta’s rapidly scaling portfolio of data centers. A good candidate has an interest in helping the team to operate efficiently and effectively and has enthusiasm for identifying gaps and process improvements. This position will play a pivotal role across the energy teams, coordinating vendor management, developing models to support processes and onboarding, and guiding the internal budget.

**Required Skills:**

Energy Sourcing Manager Responsibilities:

1. Lead energy interconnection and service contract management and procurement-related tasks and reporting, including vendor onboarding, direct debit enrollment, purchase order initiation, and invoice and PO tracking and troubleshooting

2. Work with the team to develop capital expense forecasts, track actuals and communicate variance commentary to stakeholders

3. Lead data center energy OPEX tracking, billing setup and troubleshooting

4. Own the relationship with internal contracts and procurement partners. Develop and improve systematic solutions to streamline the procurement and contract processes

5. Collaborate with internal partners on professional service budget tracking, forecasting, and reporting

6. Maintain relationships with finance and other key cross-functional partners

7. Support the tracking and provide updates on energy utility bills

8. Assist with the development and maintenance of internal tools and tracking systems (e.g., SharePoint sites, document libraries, internal dashboards)

**Minimum Qualifications:**

9. Experienced with high volume utility bills, payment processes, managing complex purchase orders and MSAs

10. 6+ years of experience in energy procurement, energy sourcing, or energy supply strategy within the utility, independent power, or large energy consumer sector

11. Experience building and managing relationships with a variety of cross-functional partners

12. Fluent in contracting and procurement languages, principles, and practices

13. Experienced in data analytics

16. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

17. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)

18. Knowledge of behind-the-meter generation, battery storage, or microgrid solutions as components of data center energy supply strategy

19. Experience sourcing energy specifically for data center, hyperscale, or other large-scale critical infrastructure load

20. Experience with renewable energy certificate tracking, carbon accounting, or sustainability reporting frameworks relevant to large energy portfolios

21. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

22. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

**Public Compensation:**

$132,000/year to $188,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
