Charge Capture & Clinical Data Analyst - Surgical Services
We’re looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented analyst to join our Surgical and Cardiovascular Services leadership team at Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas. This role will directly support revenue integrity and performance improvement across the Operating Room, Cath Lab, and Endoscopy by owning charge capture workflows, reconciling billing documentation, and delivering data that drives change.
This position will serve as the key point of accountability for Cath Lab charge capture, ensuring all high-dollar supplies, implants, and procedural documentation align with payer requirements and internal compliance standards. You’ll partner with nursing, techs, physicians, coders, and revenue cycle teams to prevent missed charges, ensure timely reconciliation, and surface recurring gaps in real-time.
Beyond revenue, this role supports data-driven decision-making across surgical services. You’ll provide performance dashboards, throughput metrics, and committee-ready reports to support quality, utilization, and operational efficiency—directly impacting performance in PI, FCOTS, turnover time, and strategic initiatives.
We’re looking for someone who can translate numbers into insights and insights into action, someone who sees data as a tool for improving both patient care and business outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in a hospital setting (OR, Cath Lab, Endoscopy, or procedural areas).
Demonstrated experience in charge capture, preferably with high-cost procedural services and implant billing (Cath Lab, OR, etc.)
Working knowledge of CPT/HCPCS codes, billing compliance, and documentation requirements.
Ability to identify, analyze, and communicate trends to support clinical, operational, and financial improvements
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills; able to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, high-acuity academic hospital.
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, finance, or related field preferred.
