**Description**

**Special Security Officer (SSO) – Dyess AFB, TX** Leidos is looking for a mission-focused Special Security Officer (SSO) to support SCI security operations at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas. This is a temporary yet highly critical position—lasting from 30 days to a year—where you'll serve as a vital force within the Air Combat Command Wing’s SCI program.

In this role, you'll ensure the seamless operation of the Special Security Office and provide expert guidance to local and tenant SCIFs. You will interpret policies from the Director of National Intelligence, Defense Intelligence Agency, and Department of Defense to maintain the highest standards of personnel, physical, and information security.

**What You’ll Do:**

+ Maintain current SCI directives, manuals, and guidelines to fulfill all SSO duties

+ Account for, transmit, transport, package, and safeguard SCI in compliance with security protocols

+ Oversee proper SCI destruction using authorized procedures

+ Control SCI dissemination to cleared personnel with an established need-to-know

+ Investigate SCI security infractions and submit reports to the Chief SSO

+ Coordinate with collateral security officials to align mission goals at all security levels

+ Conduct actions related to SCI personnel, information, physical, and technical security—including TEMPEST and TSCM

+ Deliver SCI security awareness training as mandated by regulations or requested by the COR

+ Manage all facets of the SCI Personnel Security Program: nomination interviews, access validations, investigative requests, briefings, signed NDA/NDS documentation, and related personnel actions

+ Certify and receive SCI visitor clearances/accesses

+ Maintain the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) to accurately reflect all personnel under their organization.

+ Provide support and guidance for SCI eligibility processing

+ Handle derogatory information for indoctrinated individuals, and assist with Security Information File creation

+ Ensure compliance with ICD 705 and other directives for current and future SCIFs, and prepare/revise physical accreditation documents, including fixed facility checklists

+ Verify accreditation documentation for all SCIFs and conduct annual self-inspections

**What you Bring:**

+ Active TS/SCI security clearance on day one

+ Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience, or Associate’s degree and 6+ years (experience may substitute for a degree)

+ Strong experience in SCI security disciplines, particularly in personnel, physical, and information security

+ Ability to work independently in a dynamic operational setting

+ Knowledge of security principles, risk evaluation, mitigation strategies, and procedural implementation

+ Familiarity with ICD 704, ICD 705, DoDM 5105.21 V1–V3, and other applicable DNI, DIA, and USAF directives

**Nice to Have:**

+ Completion of formal SSO certification and SCIF physical security course within the past five years

**Pay Range:**

Pay Range $63,700.00 - $115,150.00
