Electronics Technician - Entry Level

**Job Description**

BAE Systems is seeking Entry Level Electronics Technicians to be part of our experienced technical team at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) Wallops, Island, VA. This is an amazing career opportunity to learn and work on state-of-the arthigh-techNavy electronic systems. Our facilities contain nearly every combat system supported in the Navy with corresponding on-site tactical systems. A few of these systems include: the Close in Weapons Systems (CIWS),multiple variants of the Gun Weapons Systems (GWS), theNavy snewest radarsand communication/network systems. Additionally Naval systems such as SPY, SPS-48G, SPS-73 CANES, IFF and CEC systems are just a few examples of the large assortment of high-tech military equipment at our facilities.

SCSC is located on a barrier island on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and is a tenant of the NASA s Wallops Flight Facility. SCSC provides live combat systems suites with platform specific radars and sensors and supports the following functions: combat system lifetime support engineering, platform certification, operational and technical evaluation, combat system training, interoperability testing and participates in Live at-sea and air exercises. SCSC provides ahigh-fidelity combat systemcapable ofreplicating theconfiguration of every ship in the AEGIS and Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) fleet today, as well as future ship platforms.

The selected candidate will perform the following tasks:

1) Troubleshoot combat system equipment using site and element drawings

2) Perform preventive and corrective maintenance

3) Alongside Naval Subject Matter Experts, support software updates Navy systems

4) Learn new systems through our in-house Contractor Qualification System and develop proficiency on multiple combat systems

5) Conduct inventories on circuit boards and modules in electronic systems

6) Adhere to the Navy 3M system, policy, processes and regulations

7) Complete maintenance administrative tasks including 2K's, Shiftpass downsand CSESS updates

8) Fiber and copper cable dressing and cable management

This position is controlled by the Service Contract Act (SCA) and is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**

Minimum education and years of related/relevant experience required: High School/GED and at least 2 years demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective/preventive maintenance on electrical and/or mechanical systems and/or equipment, or an Associate's Degree in a technical discipline or an IAT level certification. PQS 301 qualification is required. If selected candidate is not PQS 301 qualified on or before hire date, he/she must be willing and able to obtain PQS 301 qualification within first three months of employment.

Security clearance requirement: This position requires the successful candidate to be able to obtain a Secret level clearance. The criteria for obtaining and holding a clearance are driven by US government requirements. You must be a US citizen to obtain a security clearance. Selected candidate will receive a contingent offer and start date will be delayed until an interim Secret clearance is granted.

**Pay Information**

This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
