Polaris is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a growing team.
As a Hardware in the Loop Engineer, you are responsible for the automated validation of electronic control unit integrated hardware and software. Your primary responsibility is the development and execution of tests, and the analysis of the test results. You will design and develop the hardware, software, and platforms for the HIL system to support the automated validation of multiple controllers and vehicle platforms.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES** :
+ Work with controller leads to plan test script development and software validation schedules.
+ Manage multiple ECU validation schedules and projects simultaneously
+ Review and understand ECU software requirements and the desired functionality of the vehicle system
+ Design test cases and develop test scripts to automate software validation on a HIL system
+ Setup, execute, and analyze the results of the automated test scripts and report results to stakeholders
+ Design harnesses and loads banks for the HIL system to simulate a vehicle based on wire schematics and components
+ Diagnose and troubleshoot software, hardware, and harness issues on the HIL system
+ Other duties as assigned
**SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE**
+ B.S. or higher in Engineering required, prefer Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering; additionally other engineering backgrounds with applicable programming/test experience.
+ Strongly prefer experience with dSPACE SCALEXIO, ControlDesk, and ConfigurationDesk
+ 2+ years of experience validating embedded systems especially related to vehicle controls/diagnostics/communication required.
+ Experience with test scripting and object-oriented programming required, Python preferred.
+ Experience with MATLAB/Simulink required.
+ Experience with version control systems required, Git preferred
+ Experience with vehicle communication protocols required, CAN/J1939/UDS preferred
+ Experience with ASAM XIL API v.2x desired
+ Experience with ECU measurement and calibration desired (CCP/XCP)
+ Experience with lifecycle management software desired, PTC Integrity preferred
+ Experience troubleshooting test hardware and wire harnesses using scopes and multimeters strongly preferred
+ Understanding of engine, powertrain, chassis, body, and suspension control systems strongly preferred.
+ Hands-on aptitudes/interest with strong attention to detail is key
+ Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced development environment required
+ Experience in effective problem solving and troubleshooting required
