Journey Tool & Die Maker

**Position Title: Journeyman Tool & Die Maker**

**Reports to: Manager, Maintenance**

**Location:** Wichita, KS

**Job Summary:** Builds and maintains a variety of tooling, fixtures, and molds.

**Job Duties:**

+ Perform all the various operations required for plastic injection molding processes and equipment

+ Development of preventative maintenance and repair of injection molds and associated dies and fixtures

+ Perform tooling maintenance to maintain efficient production and specified quality standards

+ Makes dies and punches as well as other associated tools and fixtures as needed.

+ Maintains injection molds

+ Keeps machines and work area clean and orderly

+ Troubleshoot tooling, fixture and machine problems and offer solutions

+ Observes all safety rules

+ Supports team objectives

+ Other duties as assigned

+ Requires the use and/or interpretation of tool and engineering drawings, sketches, templates, manuals, etc.

+ Must be proficient in the use of precision measuring tools

+ Must be able to work in a team environment and possess good facilitation skills

+ Ability to work a flexible work schedule on weekends

+ Must be able to work overtime as needed

**Preferred Qualifications:**

**Education and or Experience:** Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions presented in English.

+ Safety glasses

+ Steel toed shoes

+ Hearing protection

**Language Skills:** Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.

**Mathematical Skills:** Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

**Certificates, Licenses, Registrations**

+ Journeyman Tool & Die Maker Certificate (or equivalent experience).

+ Valid forklift license.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
