**Job Description**

**Key** **Responsibilities/Essential** **Functions Include:**

**Utilize mechanical knowledge, related ability and expertise in the design, fabrication and development of equipment and/or product development.**

**Installation of new equipment and upgrading of existing equipment with new and innovative technology.**

**Perform complete teardown, rebuilding, and repairing of complex: refrigeration systems, closed loop recirculating water systems, CNC mechanical equipment, both low and high vacuum systems, ultra high purity water filtration systems, and wet chemistry storage & deliver systems. (Such as: solvent recovery still and degreasers, CNC milling, CNC lathes, boring and grinding machines, electrical discharge machining (EDM), lasers, high and low temperature vacuum furnaces, R.F, exhaust vacuum systems, high temperature hydrogen sintering furnaces, electron beam bonders, glow discharge mass spectrometer, mechanical rough pumps, turbo molecular, ion, sublimation, and cryogenic pumping systems, acid pumps, and delivery systems.)**

**Perform vacuum welding of vessels with both MIG and TIG weldments, with obtainable pressure of 10-9 Torr. Also oxy-acetylene welding, brazing and high temperature hydrogen brazing of similar and dissimilar metals and alloys.**

**Perform routine preventative maintenance on existing equipment. Initiate preventative maintenance procedures and schedules on new equipment.**

**Troubleshoot to determine source of problem(s) and make corrections and required using a wide variety of precision measuring devices such as but not limited to: indicators, micrometer, helium and halogen leak detector. P.P.A.’s thermocouple gauges, ionization gauges, and helium/neon lasers.**

**Design, layout, select proper materials, and determine machining variables to machine complicated replacement parts (requiring intricate operations and set-ups) to critical tolerances. Proficient use of equipment such as: drill presses, lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and band saws.**

**Researching of supplier material, and ordering of parts for a quick response and repair of down equipment.**

**Work from blueprints, sketches, specification, oral and/or written instructions to complete projects with minimal or no direction from others.**

**Provide technical direction and layout work for maintenance personnel of lower** **classifications.**

**Required Qualifications:** **​**

**Have completed State of Wisconsin indentured apprentice program in Machine Repair.**

**Have demonstrated thorough working knowledge of all types of vacuum systems and associated test equipment.**

**Able to discriminate visually to perform various checks***

**Able to discriminate auditorially to perform noise checks***

**Able to discriminate via sense of smell all necessary checks***

**Bending motions from waist required***

**Able to** **handle/lift/push/pull** **various assemblies***

**Able to push/pull/lift 50 lbs on a repetitive basis without assistance***

**Repetitive hand and wrist motion required***

**Must be able to work in confined areas, cannot be claustrophobic***

**Extended period of standing/sitting***
