Sibley Memorial Hospital is a non-profit, full service 318 bed acute care community hospital serving the Washington, DC area. Sibley offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopedic and skilled nursing inpatient services, as well as a 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley’s campus is also home to Grand Oaks, an assisted living residence; a medical building with physician offices and ambulatory surgery and imaging centers; and the new patient tower with 200 spacious, private rooms.

General Summary:

  • Inspects, cleans, assembles and sterilizes surgical instrument sets. Operates cleaning and sterilization equipment in order to clean instruments and supplies. Is proficient in the technical and quality performance metrics. Guides and assists IP I’s and IP II’s. Performs QA audits.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Minimum three years instrument processing experience required. Must have demonstrated competence in all instrument set assembly and sterilization to include all specialties.
  • CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution or Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)) or IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management) certification, CRCST or CBSPD and CER or CFER, 2 certifications

Salary Range: Minimum 25.98/hour - Maximum 42.85/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
