**POSITION TITLE:** Lead Material Handler – 2nd shift
**REPORTS TO:** Distribution Supervisor
**LOCATION:** Victorville, CA
**POSITION SUMMARY:** Effectively assist supervision overseeing the Distribution Center operation.
+ Assist with the start-ups of the shifts by coordinating and directing the placement of employees in their respective departments and when necessary train employees on tasks to be performed. Inform the supervisor of the specific manpower requirements needed to properly staff the departments.
+ Ensure product quality. Provide employees from both shipping and receiving with continuous instruction on proper techniques and procedures. Perform follow-up checks during the shift and provides management with feedback regarding the performance of individual employees.
+ Assist with the preparation and the directing of the workflow that occur during the shift and, when applicable, help prepare for the oncoming shift's work requirements. Communicate with production employees to determine material requirements and with the material handlers to ensure that the material requirements of the line are maintained to ensure an optimum level of line efficiency.
+ Inform Supervisor of any safety hazards.
+ Assist with the daily recordkeeping requirements (i.e Cost per carton: Bulk loads, LTL ; Trailer In & Out Report: Daily Attendance, Housekeeping log, etc.), as directed by the supervisor.
+ Record manpower changes (additions/deletions to the shipping/receiving departments).
+ Maintain a clean and safe working environment - adhering to the 5-S standards of the facility.
+ Report on department issues and problems and related employee issues to the Supervisor for resolution.
+ Perform all other duties as assigned
+ All job functions to be completed in compliance with federal, state, local regulations, company guidelines and policies
+ High School diploma or equivalent is required.
+ Complete and pass required medical screening.
+ Two years of shipping and/or receiving experience.
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:**
+ Strong organizations skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize a busy workload
+ Ability to follow and comply with all building safety rules and policies
+ Proven ability to interact and communicate with all employees.
+ Proven ability to use a computer and learn all necessary applications.
+ Proven ability to give written and verbal work instructions.
+ Must be self-motivated and team oriented
+ Ability to read and write English
+ Able to keep work area clean and organized
+ Must be able to sit, stand, or walk up to 8 hours a day
+ Must be able to frequently carry (up to 30 feet each time) up to 60 lbs
+ Have full range of motion of the waist and neck
+ Have unrestricted use of upper extremities and preform over-head reaching
+ Frequently bend (to the floor), twist, and kneel
+ Ability to work in a non- temperature-controlled environment.
