ManTech is seeking a motivated, career, and customer-oriented **Automation Engineer** to join our team to provide unparalleled support to multiple federal agencies through the Continuous Diagnostics & Mitigation (CDM) Program. The CDM Program is a high-profile, high-visibility, cybersecurity modernization and risk management program where you can contribute innovative solutions and consult with multiple federal agencies to enhance their Information Assurance (IA) programs and continuous monitoring capabilities.

The Automation Engineer’s responsibilities include conducting full lifecycle analysis of data that includes requirements from DHS, other OMB initiatives, and provide automation support for the whole program. This position also requires building a new Automation practice on the program to address our client’s most pressing needs with Cyber Security Threats and Data. The successful candidate will bring a consultative approach to data and use DevOps and Automation disciplines to improve the value of the data collected by our customers. This position requires a thought leader in the practice of Automation in solving our clients’ cyber security problems, coupled with demonstrated experience designing and developing enterprise solutions for large clients by providing a new approach to the team, presenting white papers and other solutions.

Responsibilities

The Automation Solutions Consultant will:

+ Architect, position, design, develop and deploy automation to support solutions for Testing, Validation and Deployment

+ Evaluate, implement, and streamline DevOps practices

+ Design and implement deploying appropriate CI/CD tools

+ Establish a continuous build environment to accelerate software deployment and development processes

+ Design and implement automation in the build process for on-prem and cloud instances

+ Provide guidance for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline)

+ Implement various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure

+ Define and set development, test, release, update, and support processes for CI/CD DevOps operation

+ Establish troubleshooting techniques and fix code bugs

+ Monitor the processes during the entire lifecycle for adherence and updating or creating new processes for improvement and minimizing wastage

+ Work with Product owners and Project Managers to understand processes and identify areas of automation for improvement

+ Encourage and build automated processes wherever possible

+ Mentor and provide guidance to the engineering team members with automation improvements

+ Manage periodic reporting on the progress to senior management and customers

+ Identify and define new process improvement opportunities

+ Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

+ Experience understanding organizational needs, proposing solutions, and managing project execution efforts designed to deliver overall program benefits for Government Agencies

+ Must possess excellent working knowledge of infrastructure automation tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, TerraForm etc.)

+ Must possess excellent working knowledge in Automating Testing process with tools such as a Cilium, Cucumber etc.

+ Must possess excellent working knowledge in Centralized Repository such as GitHub, GitLab, AzureDevops, BitBucket etc.

+ Must have strong expertise in operating environments and scripting languages like Python, Perl, Shell or PowerShell.

+ Must possess excellent automation skills and the ability to drive initiatives to automate processes.

+ Building strong cross-functional leadership skills and working together with the operations and engineering teams to make sure that systems are scalable and secure

+ Excellent knowledge of software development and software testing methodologies along with configuration management practices in Linux-based environment.

+ Possess sound knowledge of cloud-based environment such as AWS, GCP, and Azure

+ Experience handling automated deployment CI/CD tools

+ Hand on experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure

+ Ability to review deployment and delivery pipelines i.e., implement initiatives to minimize chances of failure, identify bottlenecks and troubleshoot issues

+ Previous experience implementing continuous delivery and DevOps solutions

+ Experience designing and building solutions to move data and process it

+ Bachelor's Degree preferably in computer science or closely related field

+ Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

+ Experience collaborating with other roles, such as solution architects, data engineers, data scientists, automation engineers, database administrators, and developers

Additional Skills

+ Demonstrated ability to present to senior leadership and client audiences

+ JIRA experience

+ MS SQL

+ Bachelor's Degree preferably in computer science or closely related field

Security/Clearance Requirements

+ Must be a US citizen and pass a background investigation

+ Able to obtain and maintain a DHS Suitability/Entry on Duty (EOD)

+ Office work, typically sedentary with some movement around the office

The projected compensation range for this position is $141,100-$234,400. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. In addition, ManTech invests in it’s employees beyond just compensation.
