Assembly & Test Tech - Level 2

Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly and testing. May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, and maintains equipment, components, devices and/or systems. Performs calibration and alignment checks, makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as required. Follows procedures and processes using various manufacturing equipment and instructions. May train, mentor and inspect the work of less experienced technicians. Set and achieve day-to-day objectives that may have some impact on others within the assigned area. Interacts with team members in order to solve defined issues and complete tasks. As required, accurately reports test results to more experienced technicians, engineers and/or Workflow Specialists. Works on assignments that are moderately complex and where judgment may be required. Possess appropriate knowledge and skills in order to perform tasks that require a high level of focus in order to ensure quality, safety and avoid injury.

Thorough understanding of established processes and procedures while performing various assemblies and/or testing with minimal guidance from more experienced technicians and/or engineers. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of assembly/testing and is qualified to effectively assemble/test one or more pieces of equipment, components, devices or systems. Use machines, hand tools, or power tools to fasten, rivet, screw, crimp, seal or solder.

Responsibilities:

+ Works in production, manufacturing or fabrication areas where exposure to machinery is common. Responsibilities may involve physical strain (e.g. light lifting up to 30-35 lbs).

+ Advanced use of common hand tools, torque wrenches, micrometer, lock wiring pliers and calipers.

+ Ability to use inspection tools associated with related products; various measuring devices including calipers, gauges, and other measuring devices; various soldering and desoldeirng devices, crimpers, riveting equipment, torque wrenches, and other associated hand tools.

+ Ability to pass required certification tests in related areas such as: soldering, crimping, statistical process control, dielectric/pneumatic testing and electro static discharge procedures.

+ Built in Quality.

+ Safety precautions and special hazards handling.

+ Ability to read and understand blueprints, CMMs, S/Vs, TILs, SCI, service literature, final test set up and run and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerncing (GD&T);

+ Knowledgeable in processes related to functions within the facility.

+ Experience with safety training; SAP; Standard Work Instructions; visual management; Workmanship Documentation; conformal coating removal/application; Electro Static Discharge (ESD); equipment calibration.

+ Paperwork completion.

+ Supports HOS Activities. Recommends and implements CIs. Conducts 5S audits. Solid understanding of RPS and may leads Kaizen events. Uses visuals to manage cells and to escalate issues. Demonstrated understanding of kanban card usage and able to recommend changes when demand goes up or down. Utilize Built in Quality (BIQ) and Thought Process Maps (TPM), HOS tools, skills and knowledge per HOS Development guidelines.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

You must have:

+ HS Diploma or equivalent.

+ Minimum of 1 year of experience in assembly and testing.

+ Physical and/or mental work in an environment where international standards of safety apply.

+ Must be a US Citizen due to contractual obligations.

+ 1 year of experience using calibration tools including drop mics, calipers, torque wrenches and c-mics.

We Value:

+ Associates Degree or higher in a technical discipline such as mechanical engineering, electronics, electro-mechanical, or related area preferred.

+ Experience with Six Sigma and/or LEAN manufacturing.

+ Experience in the manufacturing of Starters, Actuators and pneumatic and/or fluid valves.
