**BayCare** is currently in search of our newest **Acute** **Speech Therapist - Pool/PRN** who is passionate about providing outstanding customer service to our community. St. Joseph’s Hospital is well known for its advanced medical technologies and outstanding patient care, with more than 70 specialties represented among our medical teams. **Acute Speech Therapist Pool Responsibilities:**

+ Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, voice, and swallowing function in medically complex patients.

+ Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication and/or swallowing disorders.

+ Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational/physical therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare providers.

+ Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

+ Provide patient and family education related to communication strategies, feeding precautions, and recovery expectations.

+ Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning.

+ Perform Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS) and/or Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES), if credentialed.

+ Adhere to infection control, safety, and HIPAA policies.

+ Stay current with clinical best practices and continuing education relevant to acute care SLP.

+ Responsible for providing the appropriate level of clinical direction for therapists completing their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), Speech Language Pathology students and volunteers.

**Requirements:**

+ CCC-SLP (Speech Language Pathology)

+ BLS (Basic Life Support)

+ Speech Therapy License

+ Required Master's Speech Therapy

+ Preferred Doctorate Speech Therapy

+ 1 year Clinical Related is preferred
