Global Commodity Manager, Network Hardware and Services

Minimum qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

+ 7 years of experience with managing a Networking supply chain, or relevant data center hardware experience.

Preferred qualifications:

+ MBA.

+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant science.

+ 10 years of experience managing OEM Networking-related hardware supply chains.

+ Experience in negotiations and cross-functional collaboration.

Commodity Managers work with Engineering teams to make sure Google has the supplies and equipment to put into production the innovative products coming from our Engineering teams. As a Commodity Manager, you use your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global -- and growing -- infrastructure. The scale at which Google operates means that savings on just one piece of hardware can have a huge impact on Google's bottom line.

As a Commodity Manager, you will lead and participate in large projects spanning across multiple internal stakeholders as well as understand and resolve complex issues. You will be a key part of a Supply Chain team that drives continuous improvements and ensures operational excellence in support of Google's growth. You will be responsible for all aspects of supplier development and ongoing performance management to Google's technology and business needs. You will collaborate to develop and execute Google's sourcing strategy for our OEM Networking equipment and services across multiple internal organizations, in support of our infrastructure deployment that powers Google's services.

+ Develop long-term sourcing strategies for networking system hardware, including optimal design engagement models and strategies related to managing OEM equipment operating in a data center and backbone environment.

+ Manage supplier relationships and performance framework in technology alignment, cost, quality, delivery and implement supply chain improvements.

+ Lead cross-functional teams through robust supplier selection for new deployments.

+ Conduct high-level discussions and secure agreements with supplier executives.

+ Perform network hardware should-cost analysis and market analysis to achieve competitive results.
