In this role, you will be instrumental in enabling key benchmarks, defining goals, and optimizing software performance such as bootKPI, Benchmark and memory usage optimization in Qualcomm Automotive Chipset product. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet and exceed performance expectations, ensuring our systems are running at their best.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ MS degree in Computer Science or related field ; 8+ years of practical experience
+ Strong debugging\SW development experience in systems and software issues preferably on Automotive\Mobile\IoT SoC (System on Chip)
+ Embedded system performance analysis and SW optimization knowledge.
+ Knowledge & experience about Hypervisors.
+ Compiling optimization knowledge.
+ Knowledge on Android/AGL/QNX kernel, especially CPU scheduling. DVFS for core and bus.
+ Knowledge on SoC (System on Chip) IP cores like CPU, GPU, DDR, DSP and assess the performance with benchmarks.
+ Understanding of Linux kernel and device drivers and understanding of ARM architecture.
+ Deep understanding of ARM system, DSP and CPU architecture with Strong C/C++ working knowledge -Hypervisor architecture (Intel, ARM, AMD, etc.) is a plus
+ Embedded System architecture(s) with exposure to one or more OS (e.g., Android, Linux, QNX, etc.)
+ Strong software development skills, C and C++ programming, problem analysis, and debugging skills.
+ Works independently with minimal supervision.
+ Good Problem solving & analysis skills; Communication skills and ability, and enthusiasm to learn.
**Principal Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Profile, analyze the traces and optimize the performance of complex concurrent applications running on OSes such as QNX, Linux and Android running Natively as well as in virtual environments on Qualcomm Automotive platforms.
+ Enable new use-cases & benchmarks on Auto platforms working with multiple HW & SW teams.
+ Define key benchmark target based on Chipset configuration and correlation with measurement number.
+ Analyze Performance KPIs of Automotive use-cases such as Booting, Multimedia (Camera, Display, Video playback), ADAS (Front and Surround camera perception, Driver Monitoring, Parking stack), Maps & Navigation, Rear-seat entertainment etc. Correlate performance with projections from the systems team.
+ Optimize the booting KPI to meet customer needs.
+ Profile/analysis the popular benchmarks KPI of CPU/GPU/DDR/IO,etc.
+ Characterize/Analysis the hypervisor performance.
+ Profile system memory footprint and drive the optimizations across teams.
+ Debug/optimize UX performance like FPS/Latency.
+ OS performance comparison and gap debugging.
+ Maintain & publish a performance dashboard across all critical use-cases.
+ Work with customers to root-cause performance issues and lead deep-dive debugs of customer use-cases.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional global teams to plan, execute performance activities on Auto chipsets.
+ Writing or enhance debugging tools for easy debugging/profiling performance issues.

**Pay range** **and Other Compensation & Benefits** **:**
$134,800.00 - $202,200.00
The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
