**The Opportunity**

We are seeking highly motivated sales individuals with a start-up spirit and technical expertise to join our EY Nexus team. The Pre-Sales Engineer will be part of the EY Nexus sales team working across Banking & Capital Markets solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to solve a wide range of complex challenges for leading Banking & Capital Markets organizations and be at the forefront of transformation in the financial services industry.

The Pre-Sales Engineer is responsible for shaping the overall Solution Architecture of the deal. This is an individual who has a contemporary technology background (architecture, engineering, etc.) with deep technical understanding of the Nexus components and how they will be used in each deal.

**Your key responsibilites**

+ Partner with the Pre-Sales Architect to understand client scope, requirements, and shape the technical solution architecture

+ Possess a strong understanding of the "menu" of Nexus capabilities and understand how to assemble them for each deal

+ Provide input on sizing and estimation models to arrive at pricing for each opportunity, in close collaboration with Sales Specialist

+ Understand the end-to-end delivery, including client technology constraints, challenges, and risks associated with integrations and deployment

+ Work with client technology teams to understand their technology landscape to frame conceptual architecture, define high-level technology stack, and any assumptions

+ Provide support in drafting SOW to include technology design and delivery activities

+ Provide technical demos of Nexus components and walkthrough of architecture

+ Provide knowledge transfer to the delivery teams to ensure a smooth handover from sales to delivery, ensuring that projects are properly staffed

+ Collaborate closely with the Nexus product team to identify gaps in client solutions and determine what is added to backlog

+ Provide input on market trends and client needs to the Nexus leadership team to help inform strategy and roadmap, and ensure continuous evolution of Nexus

+ Showcase Nexus capabilities and articulate success stories at industry conferences and events

**Skills and attributes of success:**

+ Strong understanding of the Banking & Capital Markets sector, including key business domainsUnderstanding of contemporary technology principles and patterns, including:

+ Event streaming / stream-based processing

+ Reactive microservices design

+ Containerization

+ Cloud infrastructure and architecture

+ Appreciation for the business architecture and ability to map product requirements to show a logical flow of technology components

+ Understanding of Product Development Lifecycle and standard architecture design artifacts

+ Flexibility and willingness to collaborate with other EY sector teams outside of Banking & Capital Markets

**To qualify for the role, you must have**

+ BS/BA required

+ 7-10 years of product or business operations experience

+ Experience implementing on-prem solutions/packaged software

+ Experience with modern DevSecOps, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) methods and tools.

+ Experience implementing on-prem solutions/packaged software

+ Experience defining solution architectures based on building blocks of existing components to maximize reuse and agility.

+ Exposure to advanced data and analytics methods and models (e.g., deterministic rule engines through machine learning models).

+ A high energy level, sense of urgency, decisiveness, and an ability to work well under pressure

+ Exceptional relationship management abilities to work effectively with clients, vendors, account and product teams

+ Ability to explain technical information in a manner that is understood by non-technical clients

+ Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change

+ Strong influencing skills and a teaming mentality

+ Willingness to travel

+ Ability to travel up to 75% in accordance with client and other job requirements

**Ideally, you will also have**

+ Experience with the following technologies:

+ Reactive Microservices: Java, SpringBoot, WebFlux, Akka Actor, Spring Reactor

+ Distribute Computing components: e.g. Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Akka Streams

+ DevSecOps: e.g. Kubernetes, CICD pipeline, Git, Jenkins/Gitlab

+ Databases: e.g. MongoDB, Apache Cassandra, Neo4J

+ Rule Engines: e.g. Camunda, Drools, DMN

+ JavaScript Frameworks: ReactJS, AngularJS

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $163,400 to $373,300. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $196,100 to $424,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
