The Meta camera team is looking for architects to drive current and future camera technology architectures for Meta's AR/VR products. Camera Architects collaborate with Meta's product teams to navigate use case and feature requirements, ISP and silicon capabilities, power budgets, optical and mechanical design requirements, and imaging solution cost. The ideal candidate will have the collaboration, communication, and technology development skills needed to advance the boundaries of what is possible in AR/VR imaging technology space.
**Required Skills:**
Camera Architect Responsibilities:
1. Define 2D/3D camera system imaging requirements through use case evaluation, image simulation, camera modeling and/or rapid prototyping
2. Translate imaging requirements into hardware component selections compatible with ISP, algorithm, and system design constraints
3. Partner with stakeholders such as product, optical, sensors, camera system, opto-ME, EE, imaging firmware, tuning, machine perception and computational photography teams to design camera products that delight our customers
4. Organize and deliver presentations based on analysis and quantifiable data to align cross-functional partners to best camera solutions
5. Investigate and analyze future camera technologies for Reality Labs products
6. Develop methods to simulate, quantify, and analyze imaging system design options for analysis of performance trade-offs
**Minimum Qualifications:**

7. B.S. (or equivalent experience), in Optics, Physics, Image Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Image Processing or related technical discipline
8. Experience in several key imaging areas such as optics and optical design, sensor technologies, image signal processing and applications of ML techniques, CV algorithms, imaging algorithms, sensor and imaging system architecture design

9. M.S., PhD (or past demonstrated advanced expertise) in fields of Optics, Physics, Image Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Image Processing or related technical discipline
10. Experience delivering architecture for high volume consumer mobile, automotive, or wearable camera products for photographic or machine perception applications
11. Detailed understanding of modern image sensors, components, technologies, and trends. Knowledge of optics technologies, state-of-the-art ISPs, and image quality metrics
12. Experience in new technology development roadmapping, planning, prototyping, and evaluation efforts for novel camera systems, imaging algorithms, and/or camera components
13. Familiarity with camera use cases and design constraints for AR/VR and wearable applications
14. Experience in camera end-to-end system simulation & tradeoff evaluation
15. Experience with multi-camera calibration, design & development of computer vision algorithms
16. Knowledge of manufacturing test and reliability
17. Software skills
**Public Compensation:**
$167,000/year to $230,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
