Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to join the team. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

**What you will get to do:**

As a lead design of Aerospace Vehicle Engineering (AVE) System HWIL Testbed, responsibilities includes but are not limited to requirements development, testbed design and integration and system performance tests.

+ Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

+ Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

+ Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

+ Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

**Qualifications:**

**You'll Bring These Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum 14 years of related experience; a Master's degree in STEM with 12 years; or a PhD with 9 years

+ Experience designing HWIL test beds for high-reliability air or space vehicle projects

+ Demonstrated record of collaboration among multiple subsystem teams

+ Experience with system or subsystem test and integration in engineering laboratory environment

+ Ability to travel up to 50% through end of 2021 and 10% travel ongoing

+ Active DoD Secret clearance granted/investigated in the last 6 years with ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP)

**These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:**

+ Familiarity with aircraft or space guidance, navigation and control systems

+ Familiarity with unit and system environmental level testing a plus

+ Familiarity with role of real-time simulators in HWIL usage
