Northrop Grumman's Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) is seeking to hire a Staff Data Base Architect at our Space Park location in Redondo Beach. This person will report to the Program Business Systems & Architecture Manager.
In this role, the Staff Database Architect will design, model, document, and guide the logical and conceptual relationship of data and database changes for complex applications. In addition, the role will analyze needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems and develop technical, structural, and organizational specifications. Responsibilities may also include creating standards and/or modeling to monitor and enhance capacity and performance.

+ Provide high-level architectural guidance and makes recommendations on industry best practices used in database and collaboration tools and reuse of major architectural components
+ Manages, engages and influences key stakeholders to support the organization's key objectives
+ Able to properly understand business requirements and develop data models accordingly
+ Interacts directly with non-technical client stakeholders and act in a business-to-technical translation role
+ May create standards and/or do modeling to monitor and enhance capacity and performance
+ Maintains and monitors server load and automated scripts
+ Expertise in using advanced level calculations on data sets
+ Provides system database support in development of Power BI dashboards to meet organizational objectives
+ Provides help and guidance to junior database staff
+ Ability to take ownership of long-term projects and quickly adjust and enhance visualizations and dashboards according to changing business needs
This position requires the incumbent to possess a Department of Defense (DoD) active Top Secret (TS) security clearance or access to Special Compartmentalized Information (SCI).
+ Bachelor's Degree with 14 years of experience designing, creating and managing relational and tabular databases such as SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, or SSRS; a Master's Degree and 12 years of stated experience OR; a PhD with 9 years of stated experience
+ Experience with data analytics and back-end database management of business intelligence software such as Power BI
+ Experience with Planning, Programming, Budgeting and/or Execution DoD processes and/or data
+ Active DoD TS and/or SCI Clearance
+ Security Plus certification
+ Data Analyst or Business Intelligence Certification
+ Experience with Deltek Cobra
+ Prior experience in Project Control
+ Prior experience or Master's Degree in Data Science or related field
+ Strong background in writing DAX queries or experience with MDX.
