As a member of the Azure Core team, you will be partnering closely with other engineers and partners to design and build features in control plane notification pipeline. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work on designing, coding, validating, shipping, and running high scale services. You will have the opportunity to use your technical experience to shape the product and its customer experience. We are looking for distributed systems and API(Application Programming Interface) proficiency with a passion for user-facing features and experience working on always available, mission critical systems. You will be responsible for building mission critical, large scale distributed systems handling billions of resources per day.

**Qualifications**

Required Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

+ OR equivalent experience.

+ 3+ years of experience developing, deploying, monitoring, and shipping scalable cloud services.

+ 2+ years of experience with indexing and columnar database systems either SQL or NoSQL.

Other Requirements:

+ Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

+ Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science

+ OR related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript,

+ OR Python

+ OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

+ OR equivalent experience.

+ Hands-on experience at shipping a large scale, commercial, online-software solutions, and design and problem-solving skills, with a bias for designing at scale.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
