CDM Smith is seeking to enhance our team to primarily support the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), their districts, and their Field Operating Activities, especially, the Institute for Water Resources (IWR). Projects include conducting water resources planning, policy, and economic studies, and providing technical assistance on risk planning and management, coastal storm damage protection, climate change, asset management, hydrologic/hydraulic planning and engineering, and sediment management. Projects are located throughout the U.S. and its territories.
Flexible geographic location or full-remote position with some travel as needed.
- Providing technical and/or programmatic support to the USACE programs nationwide
- Supporting Project Managers in the execution of projects to successfully meet required scope, schedule, and budget
- Leading discrete / major tasks within projects
- Providing direct support to clients and program stakeholders
- Serving as a technical and/or programmatic resource for other staff in the development of quality deliverables
Management Specialist 6 (IWR)
- Bachelor's degree in economics, geography, planning, environmental science, water resources engineering or related discipline
- Experience in water resources planning and policy, regulatory guidance and support, coastal resilience and disaster recovery, ecosystem restoration, and/or environmental compliance.
- 10 years of related technical experience with USACE or on similar topics with another Federal agency.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
- The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands
- Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
- Master’s degree in economics, geography, planning, environmental science, water resources engineering or related discipline
- Previous experience with USACE to support national water planning and policy or other related federal agency program experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated Leadership abilities

**Skills and Abilities:**
Strong knowledge of corporate governance practices, organization design principles, accounting principles, finance, supply chain management, and organization management. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to understand highly complex technical, professional and business materials.
