Essential Job Duties:
Primary duties of the Maintenance Technician include, but are not limited to the following:
Support the Maintenance Specialist position within University Housekeeping. This position will be one of three points of contact for equipment inventory, inspections, and repair of all Housekeeping equipment to determine maintenance and project needs. Beyond AiM work desk review, will jointly enter, track and maintain AiM orders/ equipment inventory; along with supervisor who is primary contact for this role. This includes assisting with budget and equipment tracking, departmental ordering, forecasting needs and technical understanding of department’s equipment. Utilize equipment inventory by logging logistic and PM (preventive maintenance program) as guidelines for routine work assignments.
This position has been designated as essential personnel for the University and may be required to report to work during adverse weather conditions even though the University may be operating on an alternate schedule. This position may assist with snow and ice removal under the direction of a supervisor.

High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Optional Guidelines: Experience in the Trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
+ Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds frequently and up to 90 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodations.
+ Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor and the general public.
+ Must be able to follow instructions and other communications regarding assignments and other matters.
+ Computer software & keyboard skills, including Excel (or similar software).
+ Basic electrical knowledge.
Experience in small equipment repair
Required license or certification:
A valid NC Driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire.
NCDL must be maintained as a condition of employment.
