Senior Benefits Manager

Our Opportunity:

Chewy is hiring a Senior Benefits Program Manager with responsibility for providing policy expertise, program management, and implementation as we build new plans and programs globally across health and welfare, retirement, and time away from work. In this role, you will evaluate benefits legislation and competitive benchmarking to determine appropriate offerings across new business lines and geographies. You will project manage, design, and implement new benefits initiatives that impact the Team Member experience and the overall culture of the organization. This is a highly visible, strategic role responsible for ensuring the Benefit programs enable Chewy to attract, reward, and retain top talent.

The ideal candidate will be fluent in benefit plan design and administration, leave regulations, have global experience, and have strong business acumen. You will be a subject matter expert in LOAA and Benefits, including state and local law requirements, and in the parameters of the ADA and similar laws, for the U.S., Canada, and in other countries around the globe. You will also have experience in vendor management and project management. You'll be successful in this role because you are a proven leader, organized, self-motivated, and passionate about LOAA and Benefits. You’ll partner with business leaders to design and implement a benefits strategy for the continued growth of the company. This role is vital in ensuring we provide a best-in-class Benefits experience across Chewy.

What You’ll Do:

+ Design and develop best in class global benefits strategies to attract and retain an innovative, high caliber workforce.

+ Recommend benefits programs to management by studying employee surveys as well as industry trends and developments in benefits being offered by other organizations.

+ Support management's decision making by analyzing benefit options and predicting future costs.

+ Act as lead/project manager on special projects. Complete comprehensive project plans, execute assignments and tasks, monitor, and control progress and ensure milestones are met, and track successful completion and evaluate performance.

+ Analyze data and metrics to make critical decisions; identify patterns and report findings & trends.

+ Implement enterprise leave and benefit programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal, state, and municipal employment laws in the U.S., Canada, and around the world (e.g., FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, Family Caregiver Leave (Ontario)).

+ Develop reporting and analytics to monitor impact and success on a regular cadence to ensure Chewy is compliant with all protected and non-protected leave and accommodation requirements.

+ Continually evaluate the effectiveness of policies by monitoring administration for consistent application.

+ Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies for Benefit programs, enhancing understanding of Chewy’s benefits offerings.

+ Build strong collaborative partnerships with HR & Legal teams to support business needs.

+ Perform additional duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

+ Bachelor's degree

+ 10+ years of experience in Human Resources with a focus in Benefits.

+ Proven track record of managing and developing corporate benefits globally.

+ Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of benefits and income replacement programs.

+ Leadership experience in a Benefits Design role with strong vendor management experience.

+ Demonstrated understanding of all HR data.

+ Deep knowledge of U.S. and Canadian employment and benefits laws and general knowledge of international HR related compliance regulations.

+ Ability to recognize through internal communications or external references when there is a change in the law or regulation requiring Chewy to comply, adapt or change a process or policy (typically associated with a professional certification such as PHR, CEBS and/or 5+ years' HR experience).

+ Demonstrated ability to adhere to all confidentiality principles as required by law and internal policy.

+ Proven ability to function as a subject matter expert in LOAA and Benefits, developing and implementing process improvement and technical solutions that enhance efficiencies and performance.

+ Customer service focused, have a passion for process improvement, be self-motivated and able to work both independently and in a team environment.

+ Excellent communication, analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.

+ Detail oriented; demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, as well as strong data entry skills. Excellent fluency with data and analytics.

+ Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

+ Position may require travel.
