Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems - 2Is program is seeking a highly motivated, **Ontology Data Engineer** to join our team in Walpole, MA.

This **Ontology Data Engineer** will work with subject matter experts to create ontology models of domain knowledge; Develop data transformation pipelines to combine data from multiple sources with ontological models to create knowledge graphs; Develop full-stack applications on top of knowledge graphs to answer complex questions and render those answers to users through dynamic user interfaces.

+ Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.

+ Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.

+ Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.

+ Ensures software standards are met.

**Basic Qualifications**

+ 4 Years relevant experience with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD

+ Experience developing full-stack applications on top of knowledge graphs to answer complex questions and render those answers to users through dynamic user interfaces

+ Experience developing data transformation pipelines to combine data from multiple sources with ontological models to create knowledge graphs

**Data Engineering Experience including:**

+ Working knowledge of graph data structures and algorithms

+ Neo4J Graph Databases

+ SQL Databases (MySQL, SQLServer, Oracle etc.)

+ NoSQL Databases (Mongo, Cassandra, Redis, etc.)

+ Working understanding of ontology engineering (Familiarity with MarkLogic, OWL, Protege, Cyc, Cypher, or similar)

+ Working understanding of ETL pipelines such as AirFlow, Alteryx, AWS Glue or similar

+ Experience with AWS step functions, lambdas, etc.

+ Front-end development experience including:HTML and CSSoJavaScript/TypeScript, React, ElectronoJavaScript visualization libraries such as d3, Vis.js, etc.

+ Back-end development experience including: Working knowledge of REST APIs, GraphQL, etc.; Node.js, including Express, Apollo, etc.

Salary Range: $101,400.00 - $152,000.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
