Make an impact by joining the Industrial Engineering team at the North Haven, CT Manufacturing Technology & Innovation Center. You will be part of a shared services team supporting Medtronic’s portfolio of life saving surgical devices. This position blends your technical engineering skills with your analytical acumen to solve complex operations problems that drive capacity improvement, space and line optimization, cost reductions, operational efficiencies, all to provide a competitive advantage to the site and Medtronic. **A Day in the Life**

Key Responsibilities:

+ Possess and maintain a thorough understanding of Industrial Engineering concepts.

+ Establish, maintain, and improve labor standards, line layouts, BOMs, and routings for all products.

+ Perform time studies, ergonomic/safety assessments, process flow analysis, line balancing, and productivity evaluations for all production areas and implement identified improvements.

+ Perform financial analysis for capital equipment purchases, product cost reduction projects, and quality initiatives, and provide recommendations.

+ Develop and maintain capacity models for all plant products and processes.

+ Develop tools to forecast production floor staffing needs.

+ Develop tools to maintain and analyze supplier component capacities.

+ Leverage ERP systems (BPCS) for data mining.

+ Develop standard work and document SOPs for Industrial Engineering Department.

+ Actively participate in S&OP/Integrated Business Planning processes.

+ Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, team building, effective communication, and project management skills to perform essential job functions and develop effective action plans.

+ Collaborate with Manufacturing and Automation Engineers to develop flexible manufacturing cell designs.

+ Develop and optimize factory layout for assembly equipment.

+ Lead and/or participate in COS/MOS line transformations.

+ Develop and maintain Value Stream Maps.

+ Frequent (verbal and written) communications; able to present to peers and management on deliverables status.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

+ Analyze and design sequence of operations and workflow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.

+ May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations.

+ Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.

+ On the basis of these studies, develop and implement plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.

+ May assist Facilities Engineers in the planning and design of facilities.

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelors degree required

+ Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

**Nice to Have**

+ Strength in capacity modeling/simulation, time studies, and line balancing.

+ Highly skilled with Microsoft Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and ERP Systems.

+ Strong written and verbal communications (including presentation and facilitation skills).

+ Understanding of financial analysis.

+ Experience with standard cost development and cost accounting.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Visio and Word.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VBA).

+ Six Sigma tools and certification.

+ Lean Manufacturing concepts.

The provided base salary range is used nationally in the United States (except in Puerto Rico and certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
