RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition is one of the key deployment options for our customers' cloud transformation. It provides comprehensive cloud infrastructure and managed service offerings to our customers as an essential part of the overall Cloud Strategy of SAP. This enables customers to safeguard their existing SAP ERP investment while benefiting from a new level of flexibility tailoring the software to meet their specific needs, retaining company-specific configurations and customizations of their SAP ERP system, and accessing the latest capabilities that give their company a competitive advantage.

Under RISE with SAP, SAP allows customers to run their SAP S/4 HANA and other SAP applications (HANA applications include SAP Business Suite powered by SAP HANA and SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse powered by SAP HANA) in a managed private cloud environment either in SAPs own datacentres, IaaS Hyperscalers, SAP Premium Suppliers or in customers own existing datacentres. SAP has established strategic partnerships with the major cloud infrastructure providers, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), to offer customers maximum choice for their SAP private cloud deployment.

The Global RISE Cloud Advisory Team is part of SAPs Customer Success organization. Within this team, we are establishing a new customer-focused global team of Cloud Architecture Advisors (CAA) to focus on supporting our strategic Commit-2-Consume customer base across the life of their subscription contract. This role will work collaboratively with other CAA leaders, sales leaders, and other SAP internal, partner, and customer stakeholders. The successful applicant will be responsible for recruiting, managing, and developing a team of Cloud Architect Advisors to act as subject matter experts, being the primary point of contact for all technical topics related to the private cloud deployment from a customer perspective. This new team will span a number of topics, including the ongoing support of technical assessments, commercial pricing, and the technical side of customer draw-down (check-out) processes throughout their subscription process. They will be responsible for managing our support and engagement with customers beyond the initial deal and Sales2Delivery Handover, working in close collaboration with Enterprise Cloud Services, Cloud Success Services, and partner teams to drive successful customer outcomes along their RISE with SAP cloud transformation journey.


This is a leadership position in a customer-facing team where you and your team will support the sales, delivery, and customer success teams during the entire cycle of a Commit-2-Consume cloud deal and across the life of the subscription contract.

The following are the key tasks that this role will perform:

1. Establish and maintain an operating model in conjunction with the RISE Cloud Advisory Leadership Team that spans all key stakeholder organizations (including RISE Sales Teams, Partner Ecosystem Success, Enterprise Cloud Services, Cloud Success Services, Sales Operations, Revenue Recognition, and Global Finance, etc.)

1. Business Support and Leadership to recruit, develop and energize a team of cloud architects focused on supporting customers embarking on a private cloud journey in support of SAPs cloud transformation and growth targets

1. Collaboration and process improvement input and execution jointly with CAA leadership and key RISE private cloud portfolio stakeholders in Solution Management, Enterprise Cloud Services, Operations, Partner Ecosystem Success, and Sales

1. Manage the business to ensure attainment of Sales2Delivery Handover targets, pre-provisioning pipeline readiness/deal health, and early escalation of potential provisioning risk or delivery delays that could result in revenue recognition deferral for SAP

1. Pipeline and FC planning for capacity management in conjunction with CAA and Sales leadership to ensure maximum coverage of prioritized deals

1. Executive presence in strategic pursuits, providing technical leadership and support for cloud architects in non-standard or highly critical deal cycles

1. Best practice and Knowledge Share across and between architect teams to ensure continuous improvement


+ Bachelors / Masters degree in Engineering or Computer Science, Business Administration required from an accredited university.

+ Impeccable customer communications and presentation standard is required

+ Executive Presence / Gravitas at C-level engagements is required

+ Strong networking and executive communication skills

+ Proven record of de-escalation management and managing working relationships under high pressure

+ Excellent proficiency in the SAP product portfolio, offerings, and industry solutions.

+ Excellent understanding of SAP solutions (releases, platform interdependencies, etc.)

+ Excellent understanding of operational aspects (Application and Technical) of SAP solutions in a cloud environment.

+ Excellent understanding of the entire platform stacks (storage, virtualization, hardware, networks, etc.)

+ Excellent understanding of technical capabilities of multiple Hyperscaler (AWS; MS Azure or GCP)

+ Understanding and competency in hyperscaler & cloud commercial models and/or FinOps.

+ Ability and willingness to be part of the leadership team for Cloud Architects

+ Willingness to undertake customer-related travel on short notice

+ Fluency in English is a MUST


+ 8 years of customer-facing SAP Consulting experience.

+ 8 years of solution design, enterprise architecture, technical architecture, and/or SAP implementation.

+ Previous team leadership or management experience is beneficial

+ Experience in technical pre-sales or delivery roles is highly beneficial.

+ Experience with SAP BTP, IaaS Providers (AWS, MS Azure, or GCP), SAP Premium Suppliers, and/or data centers is a big advantage.

+ Cybersecurity & Compliance expertise is an advantage

+ SAP Application Lifecycle Management and or SAP Operations experience is an advantage

+ ITSM, Service Design & Delivery experience is an advantage

+ SAP HANA and S/4 HANA skills are an advantage

**Compensation Range Transparency** : SAPbelieves the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAPs commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 175,200 - 378,800 USD.The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidatewill be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills,experience, scope ofthe role, location, etc. as determinedthrough theselection process.
