Manufacturing Engineer

**TITLE: Manufacturing Engineer**

**Location: Mogadore, OH.**

**REPORTS TO:** Sr. Operations Manager

**GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:**

The basic function of the manufacturing engineer is to serve as a technical resource to the maintenance and production team. Evaluating areas throughout the Packaging Value Stream determining the highest opportunities for enhancement financially then acting on them to develop the corrective actions required. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for project management, process improvements, troubleshooting, and developing corrective and preventative action plans.

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:**

+ Act as project leader for new equipment and process implementation as directed.

+ Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.

+ Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.

+ Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

+ Design, install, or troubleshoot manufacturing equipment including computer and PLC based control systems

+ Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.

+ Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing.

+ Facilitate continuous improvement for Packaging processes.

+ Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, or processes and systems.

**Knowledge and Skills**

A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline is required. Minimum 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Extensive knowledge of PLC based machine control systems is desired. Experience with robotic automation is a plus. Candidate must possess strong problem solving and process improvement skills with a proven track record. Must be goal oriented, data driven, with a strong sense of urgency. Excellent facilitation, communication, and motivational skills are essential. Must be willing to accommodate nonstandard working hours on a limited basis.

**PREFERABLE CHARACTERISTICS:**

+ Highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

+ Lean manufacturing experience preferred.

+ Experience with robotics, packaging automation & material handling preferred.

+ Experience with SAP a plus

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**

+ Minimum of 2yr associates Engineering, Metronics or other technical area

+ Three (3) or more years experience with automation in a manufacturing environment.

**PREFERABLE CHARACTERISTICS:**

+ Highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

+ Lean manufacturing experience preferred.

+ Experience with robotics, packaging automation & material handling preferred.

+ Experience with SAP a plus
