Our location in Minneapolis, MN, currently has an opportunity for a **Category Manager – Drug Channel** . This position will have direct responsibilities for Abbott’s Walgreens and CVS businesses, leading category management and shopper insights to drive our brands towards growth. Responsibilities include providing advanced analytics, shopper and consumer insights, and category recommendations to internal and external customers. Candidates must have excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to identify and present recommendations and develop effective and accurate reporting tools.
This position will have interaction with the customer and have high visibility with National Account managers, multiple Team Leaders, internal Shopper Experience team members and Directors.
This position will report to the Team Leader, Category Management.
**WHAT YOU’LL DO**
**Best in Class Category Management**
+ Cultivate business relationship with Walgreens and CVS key contacts to develop and maintain best-in-class Category Analytics and Insights partnership
+ Identify key business opportunities for the category at a macro and micro level, while providing category management expertise to assist in achieving customer-specific goals.
+ Deliver strategic and tactical initiatives aligned with the retailer’s business goals and objectives, driving market share, while pursuing all opportunities to drive category growth.
+ Actively support and partner with Walgreens and CVS Sales and Shopper Marketing partners to foster a cross-functional, multi-tiered selling approach
+ Develop, review and support best-in-class merchandising recommendations that align with Abbott’s strategic direction and insights
+ Work seamlessly with onsite and offsite teammates to deliver shopper insights understanding.
+ Progress Abbott’s category impact, build retailer relationships and support key decision making that drives Abbott’s position at shelf.
+ Build Abbott equity and influence retailer as a category knowledge resource.
+ Plan and execute activities to develop, present and implement category management initiatives.
+ Provide relevant category and shopper insights to drive assortment, distribution, category placement and aisle recommendations.
+ Perform comprehensive category reviews, using retailer-preferred metrics and omni-channel industry analysis.
+ Maintain and improve category reporting and efficiencies to drive business understanding and insights analysis, with specific emphasis on Numerator and CVS ExtraCare shopper panel.
+ Champion implementation and adoption for existing and new analytical tools and resources.
+ Maintain proficiency in the use of Abbott computer systems, space management software (JDA), Nielsen Workstation, IRI-syndicated data, Numerator, Microsoft programs (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).

+ Bachelor's Degree
+ Excellent communication and organizational skills

+ Ability to develop effective and accurate reporting tools
+ Advanced excel experience
