JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Harrisburg, a comprehensive College of The Pennsylvania State University, is excited to welcome applications and nominations for the Part-time Diversity Career Specialist for the Kunkel Career Center.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Career Services, this individual will primarily support students who identify from underrepresented backgrounds through targeted programming and related initiatives, including support in the allocation of internship funding for unpaid internships.
+ As part of this role, the individual may facilitate brief (15 minute) drop-ins to assist students in clarifying career goals and promote awareness of office resources and support available.
+ Further, the Diversity Career Specialist will work with our Career Ambassadors and team members to develop and deliver a range of career education presentations for student classes, student organizations as well as relevant stakeholders.
+ Lastly, the individual in this role will perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.
+ The Diversity Career Specialist may occasionally assist with office major initiatives, including open houses and career fairs and will represent Career Services in university-wide events and on occasion, may work some evening or weekend hours.
Requirements and Qualifications

+ Must have excellent presentation skills, excel, and actively contribute within a team environment with open communication. Event planning experience is highly desired.
+ The individual must possess interpersonal skills, demonstrate multicultural competence, and be grounded in both career and personal development theory.
+ This opening typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline. Master’s in Counseling Psychology, Counselor Education, Student Affairs, Higher Education, or related discipline is preferred, and 1 or more years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
