SCOPE OF POSITION The Occupational Therapist evaluates patients and prescribes a treatment program, with physician approval for all patients assigned to him/her. The OT further adjusts the program within constraints and confers with the physician as needed. He/she documents treatment, progress, and makes suggestions toward further treatment. The OT works in conjunction with other team professionals to provide patient care, provide education for patients and their families, and assist in discharge planning. He/she is responsible for the supervision of the OT Tech and/or the COTA assigned to his/her team. The OT may be asked to assist with orientation/training of new team members or with the supervision of OT/COTA students. Other duties as assigned.
